Helena's POV
"Take care of your self kitten".Jayden says hugging me.
"Kitten!?..Jeez my ears are bleeding." James exclaim and we all starts laughing.
We were outside the fortress-as I like to call it with little clothes packed so when we shift there will be something for us to wear.Not that nudity is a special thing among we werewolves but we still take pride in covering it.Jayden came with us to bid us farewell.Julie and Damion had left with the ten warriors a while back.
"Shut the fuck up James and make sure you both are safe.I love you Helena I love you James." Jayden says and James cringed further.
"Gosh you are impossible Jayden..Helena if you are done let's get going we have a long journey ahead of us."James said and I gave Jayden one last peck before going.
Damion carried our little bag and I wave one last time at Jayden before walking away from the fortress sight.I sigh.
"You know everything will be fine and you both will be together before you know it." James says and I smiled as I followed his lead into the forest.
"I know but I just can't shake the feeling that something bad will happen to either Jayden or I soon.I feel that it's too good to be true.Its scary." I finally admit in the quiet forest.
"Nothing bad will happen...You both are fighters and deserves the happiness in the whole wide world." He assure me and i smiled.
"Thank you so much James.I hope you also find someone who makes you happy.You also deserves a happily ever after."I said and he chuckled sadly.
"I don't think there's ever a second chance mate Helena.I'm happy being friends with y'all for real..You guys are the best.So did you want to run in your wolf form or continue walking?". He asked signifying the end of the conversation.
"Hmm,let's continue trekking so we don't tire our wolves out before we get to were we will need their strength.By the ways what's your wolf's name?".I asked curiously.
"Bane".
"As in wolfsbane?!" I asked shocked while James laughed.
"I get that reaction a lot..No not wolfsbane just Bane." He said and shrugged. Some names can actually throw you into thinking.
"What's yours?"
"Huh?".
"Your wolf's name".He says in a as-a-matter of fact way.
"Oh it's Larah" I said and larah ears pecked up when she heard her name.
'Are you talking about me?'. Larah asked.
'Shut the fuck up woman.I thought you said you will never talk to me again for leaving our mate?.' I retorted at her.
'First of all I'm a wolf you idiot,you are the woman and secondly you were the one who mentioned my name first so I just responded." She flare her nose at me.
'As much as I love to argue with you I wouldn't,so save your energy for when you will need it and mind you I will tell mom that you are not excited to see her."
'What!,I miss her and eager to see her just that I miss my mate more.He promised me a run this evening but instead I'm stuck on a journey you could have decline.You even supported leaving this night.Anyways bye and don't talk to me till you want me forward." She says and I just rolled my eyes at her again.Gosh Larah can be dramatic at times and I realized Damion have been talking to me when I was arguing with Larah.
"Huh,I didn't hear anything you say.I was having a moment with my stupid wolf." I laughed.
"Don't call your wolf stupid it's part of you."He said and smiled at me while Larah jumped in my head.So I decided to change the topic.
"How did you meet Jayden?".I asked.
"Well,we both are from the same pack.We were not friends then of course he's the alpha's son and I'm just some pack warrior's son.So,when the pack got attacked we all scattered and after ten years we found each other as rogues and I decided to join them.Jayden took interest in me and when I told him I was from his pack he brought me even closer.I have never been so happy in my life.He was there when I lost my mate.He and Julie helped me get through the grief of my loss.They are good people."
"Tell me about her,your mate I mean."I said and he smiled but it didn't reach his eyes.I know he's still sad of course who wouldn't be?.
"Linda..Her name was Linda an omega.She's the nicest person I know,she's soft,lovable beautiful passionate and I love her.I found her before I joined Jayden.I trespassed on their pack land.She was just outside her small hut staring into the woods.When she turns her head she's got the beautiful blue eyes and the mate bond just snapped into place.She felt it too and immediately rushed inside.At first I thought she was rejecting me and I decided to leave but when I turned my back to look at the hut one last time she came running towards me with a small bag and she was like 'Let's get out of here the warriors are on their way because you trespass on our land' and we just quickly hurried away." He says and I can't help the tears that escaped my eyes.Yes I'm a cry baby.
"That's beautiful,she came with you knowing you are a rogue,I wish I had met her."I breath.
"Hey stop crying I haven't even told you how she died and you are already a mess. I wish you had met her too she's a sweet soul and you people would have been the best of friends."He patted my shoulder.
"I know so too.I'm sorry James" .I felt sorry for his loss and my heart breaks for him.
"You don't have to be sorry Helena it's not your fault she died..okay that's enough.We are going to run in our wolf form soon,we will soon get to the Psyche Rogues path soon and they are ruthless it's better we avoid them than challenge them." He warned.
"I have been meaning to ask this question for a while now..You all don't fit the definition of a rogue.Y'all seem like you are in a pack and you are all fresh,good looking and have good memories it's not that I don't like you all like that I'm just curious you know." I asked curiously.
" I understand what you mean but that's because we take good care of ourselves and we don't wander around.The rogues which wander around are always prone to attacks and struggle to be alive.In the process,They lost their sanity.And I also think the moon goddess is having pity on us because we became rogues unjustly or maybe it is because we are trying to save humanity that's why we've been healthy.We don't even smell like rogues unless we are near a pack boundaries we will smell different.When we see a Psyche rogues you will know." He shrugged.
"That's crazy."
"We have to shift now Helena and follow my lead." He says and went to the back of a tree to shift. I pulled off all my clothes too and put it into the bag.I called Larah forward and I shifted.Landing on paws.
Just as when Bane came out from the back of the tree with James clothes in between his teeth.Larah picked up our bag and Bane run off with me following closely at the back.
