22. The one that got away

You notice my hair, my lips, my eyes
You love my laugh, my voice, my smile

From a distance, Lover...

You love me at a distance.

I opened up my heart, my mind, my castle.
Seeing you aimlessly walk into every room
Except my reality

How much longer
Til your path leads to me, Lover?
How far in time shall I wait,
For your journey to feel like steps.

Silence was my warden, striking me,
I tame.
Distance, an executioner, covering my head,
It calls out my name.

My steps bleed for I carry this burden
My back, with lashes, I burn
My hands, so frail, they sin.
My every waking thought,
"When will he give in?"

Escaping my mind,
I choose to live!

"Runway, let's runaway."

You'll try to find me
In Lover's and in poetry
My voice, like a symphony.

But even nectar wouldn't be devoured like me
No toxin shall poison you enough to forget me.
Ever again.

You bleed through your beautiful fingertips
A portrait made of blood.
Our hands, once intertwined
Now accomplices.
Forever bound to pay for it
In stone and in mud.
Till death and in madness
Until you also fall apart.
Bound by destruction
Destined to break from the start

You are now your prison.
I am now in your heart.
