Constance sighed as she stretched getting up in her bed. She felt something was weird, she pulled the blankets back and noticed the bed was wet. She shook Maro's arm. "Maro!" She shouted haistilly.
"What? What!?" Marocelli practically launched himself out of the bed, kneeling on the mattress ready to fight. His eyes still heavy with sleep as he looked around in confusion. "What's wrong?" His voice was gruff.
"I-I think my water broke!" She said in disbelief as she looked at the bed.
For a long second Maro stared at her, processing. Then his eyes went wide. "Holy fuck. Okay." He immediately went to move a bunch of pillows for her to lay on. "Come here, here." He instructed. He yanked the blanket off and went to grab another. "Do you need anything? I'm going to call Flint. What do you need? Are you feeling okay?" Maro rattled off tok quickly, stumbling over his words.
"I'm okay for now thank you." She said mostly calm. She was freaking out but knew Maro needed the help in the moment more than she did. Her stomach started to hurt a little but it was minorly uncomfortable.
"Okay. Okay. Where's my phone?" He got off the bed and started to frantically look for his phone once he had it he was on the phone. "Flint. It's happening. How fast can you get here? Yeah, yeah, her water broke. I need you here immediately." He said while pacing.
Flint tethered downstairs and made his way up to the room, his phone in hand. "I'm here." He said as he watched Maro. Constance almost laughed at the look on his face. Flint set up his tools and things he would need and gave Maro instructions. "I'm going to need towels, a bucket of water, and some ice." He instructed. Marocelli didn't hesitate and ran down the stairs without a word.
Constance shook her head at him watching her partner disappear out of the room. "So, how are we going to do this?" Flint looked at her and started to get set up.
"Well I need you to change first, then we need to see how dilated you are, I might give you an epidural if it starts to hurt this much." He pulled out a lot of different things and placed them over the bed.
Constance got up to change into a dress she bought just for this moment. She sighed as she mentally prepared herself for what's to come.
Marocelli came back with everything piled in his arms. "Anything else? We could grab more blankets or some hot water." He suggested quickly as he put all the items near Flint.
Flint nodded at him. "That sounds good. Do that." Flint smiled at him, He told Constance how to sit so he could check out how dilated he was. When he checked she was only two centimeters. "You still have a ways to go. We might be here a while." He chuckled.
Maro came back with three blankets and a bucket full of steaming water. "About how long?" He asked, putting everything down and immediately going to take Constance's hand.
"It could range from a few hours to days. It's up to the baby now." He stated.
Constance's eyes widened. She looked at Maro with worry. "Days?!"
"I-I'll call my mother." Maro visibly paled before he fumbled for this phone again. He spoke softly, holding Constance's hand tightly.
Constance smiled at him as she felt another pain. It was a little worse than the last one but not by much, she shifted a little uncomfortably. Marocelli moved to be able tow watch her, worry clear on his face.
"Yes Mom. Five minutes ago. No we didn't... at home. Yes! her cousin is a doctor. No." Marocelli sighed but rubbed her hand slowly. "Just have Deacon bring whatever you think is best." He ended the call. "Deacon's coming with some items from the Grimoires..." he gave Constance a smile. "Are you okay?"
