Bonnie came back down the stairs a couple minutes later. She had her blonde curls down and her pink cave helmet was nowhere to be seen. An older woman came down the stairs, her black hair was streaked with gray and fell in a straight waterfall to her waist. Her eyes were bright green, eerily similar to Marocelli and Baldassarre.
Constance thought she was beautiful and watched her descend the stairs in awe. The baby shifted a little in her belly and she got distracted from it. Her hand went to her belly and she rubbed it lightly to calm the baby down. It felt weird knowing something was living inside her.
"Everyone. This is Cora Kingery. My aunt, and your, your, and yours great great great relative." Bonnie flourished her hand to Deacon, Maro and Bladassare.
The woman arched a dark brow, giving Bonnie a steady look before she clasped her hands together. "It's not every day I get to meet a new family." Her eyes swept over the group, her gaze was intense but seemed to be taking in every little detail.
Constance SmiledConstance smiled at her and reached a hand out to shake, "Constance Polonius. It's nice to meet you." Cora nodded, shaking her hand. The older woman looked Constance over carefully.
Mimi came behind Constance and offered her hand. "Mimi Polonius. You have a beautiful shop."
"Thank you." Cora shook her hand as well.
Flint stood behind Mimi and bowed a little to her. "Flint Polonius, It's nice to make your acquaintance." He smiled at her before he made his way back to Deacon.
Cora watched Flint go before she glanced at Constance, her voice was cool. "You're far along. I have some things for you."
"Constance is Maro's lady. They should be having their baby soon." Bonnie added, she had hopped up onto the counter to sit.
"Which one is Maro?" She asked.
"Uh, me. Marocelli..." Maro moved to Constance's side, giving an awkward smile.
Flint piped up "Can I join in I'm her brother, but al-so her midwife." He said.
Cora's eyes seemed to warm with amusement. "Of course. You two follow me." She waved them to follow her, she went through the door behind the counter. The back room was full of drying herbs and boxes of empty jars. She was quiet, moving around gracefully as she gathered items together.
Flint followed after her, seeming to be curious about what she was going to show them.
"Cream. It'll help with cramping and getting rid of your stretch marks. Tea that will help as anti nausea." Cora started to set multiple things on the big table that stood in the middle of the storage room. "Take the tea in the morning and the cream after a bath. Bath salts that will boost energy and hydrate your skin. You'll want this jell as well, for after the birth. Things will be sore and gross for weeks, you'll want to apply it every night after." Cora went on explaining the uses for the other small pile of items she set on the table. When she was done she looked between them both, her eyes cool. "Any questions?"
Constance shook her head. "No, it seems pretty self explanatory. Thank you, I'm excited to try the tea. And do you have anything that can help with the birth?" She questioned sweetly.
Cora smiled, it was a little amused but she turned back to her shelves and rummaged. "I have a tonic that will only work through the first half of the contractions. Unfortunately without modern medicine we can only do so much. I also have a spell to test the time of delivery. Knowing the diameter of dilation can only tell you so much. The spell I have can narrow down the time of birth to 10 minutes." Cora turned back around with the bottle and placed it among the pile. She gave them both a pointed look. "It doesn't reduce the time, it just tells you when the baby will come." She warned before she started to bag the gifts.
