Bonding And Explanations

(A/N: I'm so sorry guys, I'll try my best to update on time. And I hope the soulmate thing was better explained this time, I tried really hard to explain it in a simple way that would involve the wand cores but maybe I didn't do it that well, but I hope you guys understand it better.)

(Y/N) Pov

Things have been good, a few weeks have passed since the summer break started, and I don't think I could be happier, I was bonding with Dad and Uncle managed to get away from Dumbledore, at least for the time being and they have been telling me all these stories of Mom, it has been great really.

Draco still hasn't gotten used to it, even though Dad stopped picking on him, it was funny seeing him become all serious and put some distance between us when those two entered the room we were in. I have told him Dad approves of him already but that doesn't seem to get through his thick skull, but it was cute.

I suddenly remembered something Dad might be able to help me with, so after searching for him for what felt like hours I finally found him in the library with Uncle and wanted to slap myself for not thinking of checking here first, they were both laughing while reading their books and talking about the past, I looked around for Lucius knowing that they wouldn't leave him out of this little reunion they have sometimes, but remembered he had left after lunch because of some business he had to take care of this afternoon.

Dad: Join us, my dear.

They both smiled at me and I couldn't help but return it before rushing to sit next to them, my usual seat was empty almost as if they knew I would be joining them at some point.

Uncle: Where's Draco? You guys are usually together. It's rare for you guys to be separated, I only saw that happen a few times.

Dad: Don't tell me I scared him away.

I rolled my eyes at Dad's teasing tone and made myself comfortable.

(Y/N): He went to see Blaise, and he left with Lucius after lunch.

Dad: Ah, I see! So what can we help you with, honey?

(Y/N): What makes you think I came here because I need your help and not because I just want to hang out with the two of you?

They both looked at each other and smirked.

Uncle: Because you have the same expression your mother did when she needed help, though she was too prideful to say it out loud.

Dad: So I ask again, my dear. What can we help you with?

I sighed knowing that nothings get past them, even though I came here to ask them about it in the first place.

(Y/N): What do you guys know about soulmates?

Both men looked a little surprised at the question, clearly not expecting this to be the topic.

Uncle: Well, it's a confusing matter really. You see people having the same wand core is common, but sometimes two wands with the same wand core have a different connection than the rest, it's very rare to happen.

Dad: It's not that every person that gets those two wands will be soulmates, no it's a little deeper than that, circumstances have to be met, and it also has to do with the people, they have to connect as well as those two wands do, you can think about it like this. Those two people were destined to be together and the magic of the wand's connection just made that bond stronger, it wouldn't make sense if it was the wands that made you soulmates, cause then what would happen when one of the wands switched owners, would the person who got the wand become the soulmate, of course not, to put simpler you were already soulmates, you were already meant to be with one another, the soulmate connection in the wands is basically just a tool to make you guys connect easier, to make your bond strong when you meet, as time passes the was connection won't even be needed anymore, cause the soulmate bond will already be at it's strongest, so the bond won't suffer even if one of you loses your wand.

Uncle: It has only happened very few times, and in those few rare cases you have people that were soulmates but didn't have that connection between their wands. Most wands with the same wand core don't possess that kind of magic connection, they are just normal wands that just happen to have the same core.

Dad: Soulmate bonds aren't the only connection wand cores can have, that is just the rarest of them all, some are destined to fight, and in a broad way it all comes down to destiny, you don't choose the wand, you get the one that has been destined to you.

Uncle: Again it's a really complicated subject, it's a matter that even the wisest wizards have trouble grasping it.

Dad: But we hope that we could help you understand it at least a little better.

(Y/N): I think I understand it a little better now, I still have doubts but not as many as before. I asked Mr. Olivander about this since he seemed to know already when I received my wand, and to be honest, I couldn't understand at the time, but I seem to understand it a bit better now.

Dad: I'm glad. So you and the Malfoy boy are soulmates. Ahh, my little girl is so grown up now, but it seems I have nothing to worry about since he's a good boy.

I laughed as Uncle nodded his head, and smiled, knowing that because of their personalities, they would never tell Draco that directly.

(Y/N): To be honest, I was scared I wasn't.

They both looked at me confused and I sighed before telling them what happened at that one specific Divination class, honestly, I'm surprised Uncle doesn't know all about that, they both looked at one another again, but this time a concerned look was thrown.

Dad: I was hoping, you wouldn't have it.

(Y/N): What are you talking about, dad?

Uncle: Do you sometimes have feelings that tend to be proven right, or like you know what will happen?

I nodded my head, and they both sighed at the same time, I don't know what was freaking me out more, the conversation or how in sync they were.

Dad: Your mother was like that as well, she used to unconsciously know what would happen, like a gut feeling but much more powerful since they all tended to be right.

Uncle: Our mother used to tell us stories about the women in her family, most of them possessed something similar, the people close to them would call them Seer but as the generations went by less witches showed signs of that power, my mother also didn't possess it, but your mother did, it seemed to have skipped a lot of generations and it wasn't as strong as it once was, it presented itself as something similar to gut feelings, I remember she had a couple of episodes just like the ones you mentioned, to be honest, that power got her into some trouble so we were hoping it would skip a few generations again but it seems you have it as well.

Dad: But don't worry. We will protect you. No harm will come to you, I promise you that, my sweet little girl.

Uncle nodded and they both pat my head, I felt safe and warm, I really did have the best family and friends.
