Zukos pov
It's been a couple days since (y/n) and I spoke everytime I try she ignores me completely, azula seems suspicious of her because she disappeared for a whole day and showed up covered in dirt and her feet were scuffed up but there's nothing I can do or say to her. I'm with Mai now I should be happy but there's this nagging feeling. Everytime I bring (y/n) she gets kinda mad at me, im concerned for my friend but she doesn't see it that way. I just don't get it.
"Kaw kaw" it's (A/N) she seems to be using that hawk for everything.
"Dear zuko SUCK IT"
Shes more then mad at me, why does she have to send her bird. I swatter her hawk away and stormed off. This is getting ridiculous.
"Kaw...kaw..." the hawk glared at me. I can't explain it but they came back and just glared.

"Dear zuko if I see you swat (a/n) again I'm going to put turtle ducks in your bed to beat the crap outta you, animals love me not you"
I don't have time for this petty behavior, im going to talk to her face to face.
"(Y/n)! Stop sending me petty letters with turtle duck threats!"
"NO! If you wanted a bestie you would of done the right thing, and I don't know if your dense but you broke my heart. Shattered it into tiny little pieces"
I tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge.
"(Y/n) be a grown up for once and just open the door we haven't talked properly in weeks, please"
"Kaw kaw"
"Dear zuko, you haven't even apologized so no good day."
"ARE YOU SERIOUS, (Y/N!) I'm going to get azula! HELLO?!"
I tried the door again and she was gone she can't keep running off I seriously don't understand girls what have I done wrong? Why do I need to apologize?
(Y/n) pov
People always talk about first loves but not so much about heartbreak. I want zuko to be better, I want him to be happy. I'm unsure if with his current situation he'll ever be happy, just because I know Aangs alive doesn't give him a free pass to not apologize. Zuko knew full and well how I felt about the peace of all the nations, taking every place over one by one isn't peace how many times do I have to say that. I will keep running until I can no longer it's all I know.
"Hey (y/n) where are you off to in such a hurry"
My rival. No no no what's there to be won. Zukos no prize, Not anymore at least.
"Mai! Oh I'm...going to uhhhh the food market?"
"Wow that almost sounded convincing, if you want let's go to the 'food market' together"
"Okay okay you got me, im running away from my problems because that's all I know how to solve situations right now"
"What problems? You live in a palace with the fire lord, you get anything you want"
"I never asked to be I'm not sure why they even took me back after everything I sided with the avatar and even now that's all I want"
"The avatars dead, you have to get over it and not say that stuff so loud. We all have given you free passes because at the end of the day at least for me you're still my best friend even after being with the low lives who have clearly brainwashed you"
"Mai seriously I hear crap from zuko and now you, is it couples gang up on the poor earthbender girl day today because I don't remember seeing that in the Calender"
"You need to take a step back and don't mention his name to me right now we're fighting"
"Surprise surprise aren't we all fighting, I love you all but I'm hurt and betrayed the world doesn't deserve any of it"
"I'm done talking about that (y/n), I just want my best friend back"
"Whyd you start dating Zuko then?"
"How does that have to do with anything? And I told you don't say his name"
"Why is everyone so dense and oblivious, you know what it's fine you do you, I need space"
I ran off and hid away from everybody for a couple hours. Visited iroh again for a little but but still kept the secrets to myself because a promise is a promise. But as I was leaving I saw a dark figure approaching so I decided to hide. They were headed to iroh as well. I heard a muffled 'uncle'. At that point I knew it was zuko he began to go off on his uncle but I knew it wasn't out of anger. Did he just say he thinks the avatar is still alive? How does he know that? Was I followed back then, there's no way. He stormed out and I peeked back into see iroh.
"Ah niece you're still here, his sudden outburst is not surprising but he needs to figure out his own destiny without me, I've given him all the words he's ever needed in the past I have nothing left to say right now"
"I understand but did he say he thinks aangs still alive?"
"Don't you?"
"Well hope is a funny thing but azula said herself zuko killed him but zuko said azula killed him and kata- you know what it's late im gonna head out before I get in trouble, goodnight uncle iroh"
He smiled and said goodnight as I snuck out and back into my room once again.
Zukos pov
My uncle is being unreasonable and azulas going to have my head if I go there again
"Kaw kaw"
"Not again I'm done with these letters why can't she be a grown up and just talk to me"
"Zuko, you think aangs alive? Come to my room right now. I heard everything"
Is she spying on me howd did she know? I sprinted over and there she sat finally calm and ready to talk with no glares or empty threats, those turtle ducks will not get me again.
"Let's talk zuko"
She blocked us in with earth this was going to bed a serious conversation.
