After waking and brushing his teeth, Beomgyu heads to the kitchen where he's met with the house chef. He nods a morning greeting, taking an orange from the fruit bowl and scoots on into one of the chairs by the kitchen island.
The chef merely looks over his shoulder and smiles before making the eldest son a coffee and sliding it over to him wordlessly.
Beomgyu pops a slice of his orange into his mouth once he's peeled it open and smiles at his younger brother as he joins him in the kitchen.
Taehyun eyes a spot on Beomgyu's neck and amusement flickers over his face before he meets Beomgyu's eyes.
"Morning, Johnny." He turns his attention to the chef who returns his morning greeting more chipper than he is towards Beomgyu.
Beomgyu doesn't mind. He takes another slice of his orange and peels away the white skin that sticks to it. In his opinion, those parts ruin the whole orange if you can't get rid of enough. He's never understood how Taehyun eats them with it on.
"Fried eggs with bacon on toast today," Johnny informs Taehyun who gives a short nod, taking a cup from the cupboard and flicking on the kettle.
There's no more of the special espresso capsules he likes so he doesn't use the instant coffee machine like Johnny did to make Beomgyu's drink.
Beomgyu watches as he chews slowly on his orange, separating the rest of the pieces that are left in his hand.
Once he's made his own beverage, he takes a seat next to Beomgyu and eyes his neck one more.
A smirk situates his lips. "Hyung..." He takes a sip of his drink, directing eye contact with his older brother as he lowers the cup. "You might want to put on a less revealing top before either of our parents wake up."
His eyes flicker to Beomgyu's neck again and Beomgyu almost chokes on his orange. He clears his throat and throws a hand over his neck to cover the spot.
Oh god. Yeonjun bruised him.
Now his brother knows they were up to no good.
"Nice to see you weren't lying about your boyfriend." Taehyun stifles a laugh, ignoring the alarm in Beomgyu's eyes.
It dies instantly, replaced by distaste, quickly forgetting about the mark. "What do you mean?"
"The party... When everyone was talking about whether you were really together. I had my own doubts, but you wouldn't let a stranger do that," Taehyun pauses, tipping his head to gesture at the mark and Beomgyu fidgets uncomfortably again. "So, you guys really are together then."
Taehyun confirms to himself with a nod of his head.
Beomgyu eyes him. He doesn't have anything to say. Taehyun is the one person he's okay with doubting their relationship, as they used to tell each other everything, he deserves to be sceptical when he hasn't once heard about Yeonjun.
"You understand, right?.. I couldn't tell you because of the weight behind it all. I wanted to Tae, I really did."
What he means by that, is he wishes he could tell him it's all a lie but there's too much risk behind it. So the best he can do is tell him he wanted to tell him about Yeonjun even though that's impossible considering he didn't know him until they met for this agreement.
"Hyung, it's okay." Taehyun glances at him, taking a sip of his drink and quietly thanking Johnny when he places his food in front of him. "I was more surprised someone wanted to date you..."
He gives a playful side glance to Beomgyu who pouts and punches him in the arm.
"Hey!"
"I'm joking! Seriously though... I'm surprised you had any time to date someone. You're always so busy."
