Prologue
This is my first story so don't get mad if its not great or if it has spelling and grammar wrong. The way I write things is how I imagine my characters would talk. Enjoy. And 'this is mind link talking' and "this is out loud speaking"

February 20th, 2013
That date will be permanently imprinted in my mind.
It was 1 week after my birthday and Rachel, Sarah, Daren and I were all going to the lake house to celebrate. I just turned 16 and shifted for the first time. The pain was excruciating but Ryan told me it wouldn't hurt after.
Ryan was my older brother. He turned 1 year before me and had a big strong light brown wolf. Ryan was now training hard to become our next alpha. Dad was brutal on him. He didn't even give Ryan the weekend off to go party with us. Ryan and I were really close for being brother and sister. I really wanted him to come. I begged our dad to let him but then he used his alpha voice and forbid him to go. I had never hated that alpha voice more, and now my dumb wolf wants to bow down to him when ever he uses it.
'What's the matter' Daren asked through our pack link. Another awesome perk of being a wolf.
'Nothing. I just wish Ryan could have come with us. I barely seen him since his alpha training started.' I glanced his way but then continued watching the world pass us out the side window.
'Your father has been working him hard. But hard training will make him into a great alpha. Soon you will have to join him. You might be a female but you still have alpha blood in you. Now that you shifted for the first time, it's time for you to start strengthening your wolf. And your wolf has alpha blood that means you need alpha training.' Daren replied but kept his eyes on the road.
'I know. Dad wanted me to stay and start training today. When I refused, he was going to use that stupid alpha voice of his and make it an order. Thank god mom stepped him.' I sighed
'Then just have fun Avery. This weekends yours. Enjoy it while you have it.' Daren turned and smiled at me.
'Ok.' I felt him pull out of my mind.
"OMG OMG I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THERE!!!!" Rachel screamed in the back.
Me and Daren flinched. Rachel's screaming killed our sensitive hearing. I wish she knew we were werewolves and that we could hear a mouse squeak from a mile away. That's one of those rules though that my dad drilled into my head the day I was born. No humans can know about werewolves. The only except is if a human is you mate.
A mate is that wolf's sole mate. The one that's destined to be together and was made for each other. They would fit absolutely perfect together, like two puzzle pieces. Love is at it's truest form when mates love each other. You know who your mate is once you have looked into each others eyes and touched. I haven't had that love at first sight yet. I couldn't wait for it.
Rachel and Sarah are my best friends. I had known Sarah since 4th grade and we became friends right from the beginning. We met Rachel the first year in high school. And we all became best friends. They were my only human friends but I loved them too much to let them go.
"Yea! We'll be there in two more hours. It's a long drive to the lake house but it's extremely fun!" I said looking into the mirror.
"Ok well then we need a car game!" Sarah spoke up "cause I'm bored. Let's play the A to Z sign game!"
"Ok everyone look for an A. Only signs!" Rachel agreed.
"A" Daren said pointing to a license plate. "License plates count right?"
"Yepp. Now look for B." Sarah was already searching the signs and license plates.
"Sarah you really loves this game. Don't ya" I looked at her.
"Shut up, Avery and I love this game. Don't knock it!" Sarah glared at me. That only made me laugh more.
BCDEF
"G!" I screamed out. We had been looking for that dumb G for 20 min. Everyone look at where I was point and laughed hysterically. The sign was for "Go when your to old to go" and it showed and old guy on the toilet. It was hilarious.
We then started to look for H. After five minutes of looking though my world changed for the worse.Terrible pain shot through me. It was worse then ever shifting for the first time. It felt like my throat was being ripped out. It only last for a second but killed me inside. I looked over at Daren and his face confirmed it. His eyes were closed, arms locked with fists gripping the steering wheel. A single tear fell before he open his eyes and stared straight ahead, void of any emotions.
A pack wolf knows instantly when their alpha dies. Since he wasn't fully alpha yet, no wolf would feel it but his beta, delta, and the alpha family. The pain for the death of a future alpha kills you mentally but the pain for the death of the alpha can make you pass out in physical agony. That's why when rogues attack they kill the alpha first. The death could incapacitate the pack and the the rest of the wolves would be easy to kill. That's how I knew it was him and not my father. My brother was dead.
