"Hey Skye. How was Rachel?" Jason greets her.

"Good. But who is this that your all comfy with Jason?" She looks at me curiously.

"This is Avery. She is my mate" Jason smiles at me as he said that.

"Hi" I smile at his sister.

"You found your mate! Why didn't you tell me!" she almost screams at her brother.

"I just did" he chuckles at her.

Skye just growls at her brother and comes walking over to the couch and sits right next to us. "O my god! I'm so happy! Another girl in the family! Growing up with just boys is so hard!" she exclaims and I chuckle at her energy. She is so eccentric.

"I can guess." I smiled at her. Sadness touches my voice. It was hard to live with Ryan sometimes but every fight we had only kept out sibling hood strong.

"What do you want Skye? And why are you so hyper?" Jason irritation easily heard in his voice. I'm happy he changed subject though. He hugs me tighter to his chest and I lean my head back against his chest.

"Aww your guys are adorable and I was on my way to my room when I heard my favorite song in titanic! I wanted to know who was watching my DVD. And this morning I had to wake up at 2 am to ketch my flight! It was 6 hours! When I finally land I was still dead tired so to make sure I don't fall asleep at the wheel I may have drank a few energy drinks" Skye trailed of at the end and looked away from us.

"Skye! You know what those drinks to you! When mom sees you acting like this she is going to kill you!" Jason yells at his sister, mad. I flinch at his volume.

"That's why I'm going to go chug water and take a shower. Before mom sees me!" Skye yells back, defending herself.

I shrink back into Jason's chest at they start to fight. "Jason" I whisper "calm down"

"Then go!" He growls at her and starts to rub my back.

"Fine! Jason geez! This is the welcoming I get when I come home after a week of being in Cali! Good luck Avery!" she shouts and marches out of the room.

As Skye's footsteps become distant Jason sighs. "I'm sorry Avery" he rests his head on top of mine.

"You didn't have to yell at her" I look up at him.

"I know. But my wolf sensed your sadness and he got territorial and he wanted all threats out" he looks down at me with apologetic eyes.

"You sister is not a threat" I smile lightly.

Jason sighed deeply again "I know".

"You should apologies to her when she gets out of the shower" I tuck my head back under his chin.

"I will." He said second before he whipped his head towards the door.

"Jason?" I look up at the side of his head.

"My dad just called me. Come on. it sounded urgent" he lifted me up to my feet and grabbed my hand. We rushed down stairs and to his fathers office. Jason barged in immediately and pulled me in after him. "What's the matter dad".

"Jason we" Kane rushed towards him and began to say but froze when he was me.

"Avery." he said shocked to see me. Why would he be shocked? Was I not suppose to come?

"Oo umm. I'm sorry Kane did you just want Jason. I can leave" I start walking backwards towards the door but Jason pulls me to his side and wraps his arms around me.

"Nonsense Avery. Your staying with me" Jason firmly states.

"Jason I'm not sure if Avery wants to hear this. It's not for the faint of heart." he stammered at his son.

"Avery is staying" he growled at his father.

"Jason." I hiss at him "don't be rude to your father! He's your alpha."

"But first he is my father and you are future Luna. He will not disrespect me or you" Jason growled towards me but continued to glare at his father. My stomach still twists when he says I'm going to be luna. Will I be good enough? Will the pack except me? What if I mess up?

"Jason! Calm down son. I mean no disrespect but there is some pack problems that I need to discuss with you." Kane sternly says at his son and snaps me out of my mine.

"Avery is the female alpha of this pack. And above that she is my mate. What ever you need to say to me, you say to her too." Jason grounds out at his father. Does Jason really see me above his alphaship?

"Fine. But if Avery gets upset about this, it is on you!" Kane snaps at Jason. "Today we found a rouge trail on our territory line. I sent Jackson and Alex with a few of our best trackers to follow it. They were led to a motel just out of pack territory. Three rouges were there and they brought then back here. Jackson said one of the rouges were exceptionally strong and powerful looking. He said his wolf also sensed power emanating from him. I went to go see what he was talking about. The rogue is Ryan Stone. Avery's brother." He gravely finished and turned and waited for me to freak out. Jason snapped his head to me when his father finished.

I was frozen though. My brother is dead. I went to his funeral. Something no sister should have to go to. I felt the death curse that made me feel my brother being killed. I saw my father turn from a powerful and strong alpha into a lifeless man. He could be alive. "No. He's not alive. My brother has been dead for almost a year now" I say to then but am still lost in my mind.

"Avery I personally saw him myself. His wolf has the alpha aurora and his chest has the symbol of a wolf made of stone over his heart. The Stone pack symbol. The same one you have over your heart" Kane tells me sympathetically.

"He's dead" I stare into Kane's eyes to make sure I was serious. My brother was and I will not going to ever see him again. "I felt the death curse! I felt the death blow to him! Right at the throat!" I yell at Kane as a tear escapes my eye.

"Avery it's ok." Jason tries to console me and he wraps me in his arms. I sink into his chest and brake down. My brother is dead. I will never see him again.

"What is the meaning of this father! We all know the Stone back was murdered in cold blood. All pack members slaughtered but Avery." Jason growls furiously at Kane. The second slaughter came out of Jason mouth though another set of sobs racked my body. They were slaughtered? All my friends brutally killed? My parents? I should of stayed. It's not fare. How come I lived while they all got slaughter to death. Its not fare. I should have helped them. I should have died with them.

"It's the truth Jason. I told you she wouldn't want to hear this" Kane defended himself but Jason had already picked me up and left his fathers office.

"It's ok Avery. It's not your fault. You survived because I needed you. The moon goddess planned this. She knew I would need my mate and spared you from that terrible tragedy. Avery, you are the soul surviver for a reason. You have a greater purpose in life. Avery please come down. I'm here. It's ok" Jason tried to soothe me. I couldn't stop crying though. It's almost been a year since I lost my whole pack but it still felt like yesterday.

Jason walked us back up stairs and brought me to his bedroom. When we were in his bedroom he pulled us into the bed and held me while I sobbed.
