The Rivals Part Three

Lord Richard William Carey is the Duke of Bedford Territory on Star Base 12 and he comes through the matrilineal line of Lord Patrick William Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk Territory and the patrilineal line of Lord John Carey, the first Duke of Bedford Territory.

When Lord Patrick William Howard's granddaughter, Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard married Lord William Carey, the grandson of Lord John Carey in 2207.

Lord William and Lady Sophia Charlotte had two children, Lord George Frederick Carey in 2209, and Lady Georgette Wilhelmina Carey in 2215.

Lord George Frederick Carey married Lady Henrietta Ann Bourbon in 2228 and they had two children, Lord Robert Frederick Carey in 2230, and Lady Philadelphia Essex Carey in 2235.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and Lord George Frederick Carey are first cousins and their son's are first cousins once removed, Lord Robert Frederick Carey and Lord Charles Andrew Howard III are both born in 2230.

Lady Philadelphia Essex Carey and Lady Patricia Charlene Stuart were both born in 2235 and they all grew up together along with Lord Patrick William Howard II born in 2240 and Lady Charlotte Augusta Howard in 2245 along with Lord Edward Howard.

Lord Robert Frederick Carey marries a distant cousin, Lady Lettice Knolly in 2248 and in June of 2250, Lady Lettice gives birth to Lord Richard William Carey and before he is born Lady Elizabeth Howard nee Preston gives birth to Lord Thomas William Howard in January of 2250, and he is followed by Lord Richard William Carey in June of 2250, and in August of 2250, Lady Beatrice Howard nee Bourbon gives birth to Lord Frederick William Howard III, and she is the wife of Lord Frederick William Howard II, the eldest son of Lord Frederick William Howard Senior and in September of 2250, Lady Mary Howard nee Butler gives birth to Lord Richard Edward Howard II and finally Lord Charles Andrew's Duchess, Lady Patricia Eugenie gives birth to their final child and son, Lord Andrew Charles Howard and his father names after his favorite uncle, Lord Andrew Charles Howard, the youngest son of his grandfather, Lord Frederick William Howard.

Lord Robert Frederick and Lady Lettice have a daughter, Lady Philadelphia Essex Carey in 2256 and everything goes well for Lord Robert Frederick Carey and his family until 2260.

Rigel Seven is faced with a famine and food shortage and when Lord George Carey hears the news he tells his first cousin, Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR is the patriarch of the Howard family and he tells his first cousin " Have my first cousin once removed send your grandchildren to Star-Base 12. I don't want to have to break the prime directive and invade Rigel Seven if they touch the hair of my first cousin once removed, but if it happens I promise all of our kinsmen will descend upon Rigel Seven and heads will roll." Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR tells his first cousin "They will know what the Howard's are made of."

"You are the son of my aunt, Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard who is the only granddaughter of Lord Patrick William Howard." Lord Charles Andrew JR explains.

Lord George Frederick Carey sends a telegram to his son, Lord Robert Fredrick Carey on Rigel Seven and he orders him to send him his grandchildren reminding his son "My grandson is my heir" and with that Lord Robert Frederick Carey and Lady Lettice send their two children to Star Base 12.

Lord Robert Fredrick Carey embraces his two children and he tells Lord Richard William " My son take care of your sister and make sure she marries well."

"You are your grandfather's heir to the Dukedom and Territory of Bedford on Star Base 12 and I know you will make your great-great-great-grandfather proud on both sides." Lord Robert tells his son.

Lord Robert place his two children on the shuttle-craft in June of 2260 shortly after his son's tenth birthday and they are transported to Star Base 12 to their grandfather's territory on Star-Base 12 where they met by their grandfather, Lord George and their first cousins twice removed, Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and their many cousins, among them are Lord Frederick William Howard III, Lord Thomas William Howard, Lord Richard Edward Howard II, Lord David William Beck, Lord Andrew Charles Howard and Lady Charlotte Augusta Howard and all the boys are ten years old.

All the children grow up together and they attend the same parochial school, but Lord Richard William Carey favorite cousins are Lord Thomas William Howard who is his third cousin and Lord Frederick William Howard III who is first cousin once removed, but Lord Richard William Carey doesn't especially care for Lord Andrew Charles and Lord Richard Edward Howard II who are his second cousins, but he does care for Lord David William Beck, his second cousin.

Lord Richard William Carey in 2268 met Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford at a school dance at her boarding school.

Lord Richard William Carey is attracted to Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford, but she is only the daughter of a Barony and her father doesn't like Lord Richard William Carey's great-great-grandfather, Lord Frederick William Carey who is also Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR grandfather, and when Lord Richard William Carey asks Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford to marry him she is torn between her love for Lord Richard William Carey and her family.

In the end, Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford turns down Lord Richard William Carey's proposal and she is married to another man in 2271.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR tells his first cousin twice removed by this time he is Duke of Bedford Territory ' You can do much better than just a Baron's daughter. Baron Clifford may despise Lord Frederick William Howard because of something he said about his father, Lord Robert Clifford." Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR states.

"There are a number of eligible young women who are daughters of a Duke, Marquess or Earl who want to see their daughters marry well and they come with a good dowry." Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

Lord Richard William Carey believes much like Lord Andrew Charles Howard and he wants to marry for love like his father, grandfather and great-grandfather did.

Lord Richard William Carey is present when Lt Kevin Thomas Riley presents Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell arrives on Star Base 12 in June of 2274 and the rivalry begins between Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley, Lord Andrew Charles Howard and Lord Richard William Carey for the affection of Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell.
