A Groom for Lady Elizabeth Hastings
Like every aristocratic father that lived on Star Base 12, they longed to see their children married into some of the most prominent families on Star Base 12.
Lord Laurence Hasting and Lady Anne Manny wanted the best possible match for their daughter, Lady Elizabeth Hastings.
Lord Hastings had to look high and low for a worthy husband for his daughter,Lady Elizabeth.
Lord Laurence Hastings knew that Lord Edmund Grey had a nephew named Lord Richard Grey and he was only two years older than Lady Elizabeth.
Lord Richard Grey was the son of Lord John Grey and his brother was Lord Edmund Grey and his sister, Lady Constance Grey was married to Lord Thomas Berkeley and his first cousin, Lady Katherine was married to Lord Timothy Christopher Beck.
Once again, Lord John Grey decides to tell his older brother about Lord Laurence Hastings and he explains, " I need a bride for my son, Lord Richard."
"Lord Richard is only 25 years old and his bride needs to be 23 years old and no younger than 20 years old." Lord Edmund states.
"I heard that Baron Hastings had a daughter, Lady Elizabeth." Lord John tells his brother.
"Lord Hastings is Earl of Kent Territory." Lord Edmund explains,"I know he is looking for a groom for his daughter, Lady Elizabeth." Lord Edmund tells him.
"If you want to know more about her. You have to ask Lord Howard." Lord Edmund tells his brother.
"All I know is that Lord William Hastings and he married the daughter of The Earl of Norfolk and they had a son Sir Henry who married Princess Ada of Huntingdon who was the granddaughter of King David I of Scotland." Lord Edmund states.
Lord Laurence Hastings is a direct descendant of King David I of Scotland through his son, Prince Henry who married Lady Matilda Chester and they had a daughter, Lady Ada Huntingdon and she married Sir Henry Hastings, and Lord John Hastings is descendant of King David I of Scotland and so is daughter, Lady Elizabeth but she has a younger sister, Lady Dorothy." Lord Edmund explains.
Lord John Grey looks at his brother and tells him "My son, Lord Richard needs a bride as well. Do you think Lord David William Beck, Earl of Essex Territory will agree for my son to marry his distant cousin, Lady Dorothy Devereux?"
"I don't know. You have to ask Lord Beck who the Earl of Essex as his maternal grandmother, Lady Penelope was the oldest daughter of Lord Richard Devereux and her grandfather was Lord Edward Devereux and his father was Lord John Devereux." Lord Edmund tells his brother.
"Lord Andrew Charles Howard is his first cousin once removed and why not ask Lord Howard for his advice." Lord Edmund tells his brother, Lord John.
Lord Laurence asks for permission to travel into Bedford Territory from Lord Richard William Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory and permission is given with Lord Edmund Grey. Lord John comes with his brother to meet with Lord Andrew Charles and Lady Karissa to talk about the marriages of Lady Elizabeth Hastings and Lady Dorothy Devereux.
Lord Andrew Charles looks at Lady Karissa and he asks her " What do you think?"
"What do I think?" I think that you need to talk to Lord John Devereux and Lord David William Beck." Lady Karissa explains."Lady Elizabeth Hastings is Lord Laurence Hastings's daughter and Lady Dorothy Devereux is Lord David William's third cousin." Lady Karissa explains.
From the Earldom of Huntingdon and The Earl of Essex travels to Beltane Manor, Lord Laurence Hastings and Lord David William Beck.
Lord Edmund explains to both " I have a nephew who needs a bride and I have a niece that needs a groom?"
"I have a daughter that needs a groom. I propose that my daughter, Lady Elizabeth and your son, Lord Richard marry when she turns 18 years old." Lord Laurence tells him.
Lord David William Beck looks at his first cousin twice removed, Lord Andrew Charles, " I am not Lady Dorothy Devereux's father and Lord Edward is." Lord David William states.
"I believe Lord Edward may allow his eldest daughter, Lady Barbara Devereux to marry your son." Lord David William tells him.
"Lady Barbara is more Lord Richard's age than her sister, Lady Dorothy." Lord David William states.
Lord Laurence Hastings decides on his daughter, Lady Elizabeth to marry Lord John Grey's eldest son, Lord Richard Grey when they turn 18 and 20 years old.
Lord Richard Grey and Lady Elizabeth Hastings marry each other in 2279 with Lord Andrew Charles, Lady Karissa, and Lord David William Beck attending their wedding.
Lord Laurence Hastings and Lord John Grey become the grandparents of Lord George Grey, Lady Cecily Grey, and Lady Margaret and Lord Anthony Grey.
Lady Dorothy Devereux marries her third son, Lord Essex Devereux and they become the parents of Lord Walter Devereux and Lord John Devereux.
Lord Andrew Charles tells everyone "Two out of three is not bad."
