[KATE'S POV]
"Why didn't you let me speak to her?!" I yelled at Jacob as he pocketed the phone.
"We have to go there." He said to me as a response.
"Where are they really?"
"Just in the forest."
"Just in the forest?!" Eric interrupted.
"Yeah." Jacob turned to me, "The box. Where is it? It's the last piece." He said.
"What?" I don't know why, but I suddenly felt nervous.
"The box you can't open because it needs a shaped key."
"It's upstairs."
"Go get it, then get down. We have to go now." Jacob looked serious. More serious. I ran upstairs and reached under the bed for the box. I stood up once I got it. I looked at my room, to my untouched breakfast, and ran back down the living room.
"What's happening, Jacob?" I asked him. Eric stood up.
"Chris and the others need us. My precognition showed me something. Alice. Alice has the key to that box. And in that box is the key to the one door to Dreamland. It may be as easy as it sounds, but the creatures. They know now. They will do everything to stop us and steal that key." Jacob answered. It all makes sense now. Kind of.
"Now listen to me, you two. If we get into that forest. You must be alerted. Oh, gods, not right now." Jacob started gasping violently. I rushed to him. Eric too.
"Dude, are you alright?" Eric asked. Jacob started sweating.
"Change of plan. We can't go now. Oh, gods." Jacob spasmed. Eric helped him sit on the sofa. I ran in the kitchen to get some water. I returned to see Jacob looking pale.
"Are you okay? What's going on with you?" I asked, handing him the water. Eric assisted him to drink.
"I don't know. Everytime I feel like something bad is going to happen, this would happen. It's been going on for years, ever since I developed precognition. It feels like... Someone is stopping me from saying what will happen." Jacob said.
"Well, you clearly need a rest." Eric said, taking the empty glass from Jacob.
"You don't say." Jacob replied sarcastically. Eric shrugged.
Jacob breathed deeply, and it worries me, "If there are any demons, wake me up immediately." he said. He fell asleep fast. Eric and I watched him, his chest going up and down the unsual way.
"I think he hates me." Eric spoke up.
I laughed a little, "For bringing a demon in my house, yeah." I said.
Eric scratched his head, "I swear I didn't know. She was so nice at first and then poof!" he said.
"Well, we're all curious here." I said, softly. I looked at Jacob, whose breathing returned to normal, but his skin, still pale.
Eric and I waited for Jacob to wake up, which took longer than expected. We cooked lunch. I took my uneaten breakfast downstairs and reheated them. Jacob cooked them for me, so I ate it.
It was already noon and Jacob wasn't up yet. Eric and I ate lunch together, making sure that we saved some for Jacob.
"Why did he have to keep the fact that Alice is alive?" Eric asked me suddenly.
"I don't know. He said he wasn't allowed to tell me."
"Hmm. Curiosity kills the cat. You better not keep asking."
