Curry's residence
It's currently 7am in my household and I remember that it's my 18th birthday! I open my eyes and look at my phone to see all the happy birthday texts.
I got happy birthday texts from both maternal and paternal grandparents, all my aunts, uncles and even from former Warrior teammates.
I get out of bed and get ready to walk downstairs, as I;m walking down the stairs into the foyer the corridor is dark until the lights come down as I walk into the kitchen my family pops out like jack in the boxes.
"Surprise"! they yell as I walk into the kitchen
I look at them with a shocked expression on my face.
"Happy Birthday babygirl!" my parents say with both of them kissing my cheeks
"Thank you mommy and daddy." I said to them with warm cheeks
"We made your favorite breakfast." mom says directing me into my chair placing a sash around my shoulders
"Is it confetti pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles". I said
"yes it is." dad says setting my plate in front of me
"yum". I say digging my knife into the pancakes
I cut the pancakes while watching Hannah Montana on the kitchen tv, when i get a text from Jordan saying get ready at 1 o'clock.
"oh mom I'm going with JP, Ralen and Jsquared today to go dress shopping". I said to them looking confused.
" oh, okay honey we have to take care of some things for tonight". Mom said
"tonight-, oh okay I'll watch the kids while you go handle what you need to." I said
" i was gonna take them to nana's house because, you were busy and I don't wanna trouble you on your birthday." Mom says taking my plate away
"oh, okay well ummm I'm gonna go shower." I said
"Thank you for the breakfast mommy and daddy". I add
"No problem, honey go shower." they say in unison.
I walk into the bathroom to shower and I get a sensation of what it's like to be a woman even though I've been transitioning for 5 years now.
I think I've got the feeling that this'll be the best year of my life.
Once I get out the shower I throw on some biker shorts and an oversized Warriors tee and get ready for my big day as I'm wringing out the water droplets in my hair.
Jordan, Ralen and Jsquared knock on the door and I let them in.
"Happy Birthday". they call in unison wrapping their arms around me giving me a big bear hug.
"squeezing the birthday girl, squeezing the birthday girl". I said fighting my way out of their grip
"you ready to roll princess". Ralen said patting my back
"yea I'm ready, but i gotta bring my siblings with me because I gotta take them to my nana's house." I said
" you taking them to Sonya's house". Jsquared said
"yes I am, and we're driving my pink jeep." I said
"Riley, Ryan, Canon let's go Uncle Jordan's here." I yell
I hear feet running down the stairs as they stand on the stairs before running into Jordan's arms.
"Uncle Jordan"! they yell giving him a hug
"hey kiddos". Jordan says hugging them back
I pull my keys out my purse and unlock the car to let the kids in the car and I close the door to the house.
Five minutes later we arrive at my nana's house to let the kids out so we can go dress shopping. I pull up in Nana's driveway as the kids opened the door.
"y'all be good for nana, and I'll see y'all tonight at my surprise tonight." I tell the kids
"okay sis we'll be good". they said as they got out.
I wave to my nana and blow my siblings kisses as I pull out the driveway.
