La Canada High School Auditorium.
Tonight is my big night. I am in my dressing room getting ready to perform on stage. I look in the mirror applying lip gloss to my lips when I hear a knock on the door.
"Ms. Alexander, you have guests." my bodyguard Gino says to me
"I'm coming." I say getting down from my chair.
I open the door and I see Jordan, Jsquared, Ralen, my aunt sydel, uncle gary, dray ,hazel and dj also Juan and Audi.
" wow, is this my entourage". I say with a shocked expression on my face.
"no silly." audi said patting me on my back
"we came to cheer you on." aunt sydel said to me
"auntie, you came". I said in amazement
"that's right, you know I had to cheer my niece on". she added
I look at everyone in the room on the verge of tears. I thank everyone for coming to see me on my endeavors. It then hit me that I needed some time with my uncle gary.
"Alright guys, can you give a girl some privacy I need to have some uncle-niece bonding with my uncle gary." I said
"Okay good luck." they all say walking out to the auditorium to find their seats.
"uncle gary, thank you for helping me when my dad could not be here, it means alot to know that you guys are in my corner." I said
"anytime, baby". uncle gary said to me stroking my hair
"you go out there and kill it."uncle gary says hugging me tightly.
"Okay, love you unc." I said as I sat back down.
The stage manager came into my dressiing room signaling me that I was on in 5. I looked in the mirror at myself and I smile bluntly.
I get up and walk out into the wings, I see all the amazng acts before me, I undoubtedly ending up being last because the song I was singing was very contemporary and mellow because of the theme.
"Last but certainly not least, we have a special treat." the announcer says
"We have the daughter of NBA royalty, Carrington with a cover of How Do I Get there from here". he adds.
I step out onto the stage and applause fills the room as I step on stage, I see my family across the audience when I see a familiar face. It's Devyn and Kai.
I really couldn't believe they came to support me because I thought my parents put my siblings on a pedestal above me because they were younger, but that wasn't the case
"How ya'll doing out there tonight." I say into my sparkly microphone with silver studs on them.
The crowd responds to me with applause. I walk up and set my mic on the stand and I begin to sing.
As I start sing I see people waving there hands with phones in each palm just like in the scene from A.N.T. Farm and my nervousness faded away. My voice filled the auditorium and somehow captured the eye of a UCLA talent agent, after I got done singing everyone got on their feet and gave me the best applause I've ever recieved. When I walked into the wings an unexpected guest arrived. As I look into the corridor I see some familiar but unexpected faces.
"OMG, is that Brooke and Paige Hyland!" I scream in amazement
"yes it is." they said
"I think we pulled some strings and got your favorite dancers on Dance Moms' here." JSquared said."
"Your uncle gary also called us and told us you we're performing." Paige said
" You guys should know about stage presence, because you guys grew up in competitions and talent." I said
Brooke and Paige look at me and pat me on my shoulder.
"good luck carrington." Paige says walking out to the auditorium
"thank you Paige, that means a lot". I said looking at her
The announcer comes back on stage and he announces the top 3."
"We have Leo Robinson and his flaming socks, Kendall Reyes with her ventriloquist act and last but not least we have Carrington singing." the announcer called
The first place winner will recieve $500 cash , while second place gets $200 and 3rd place gets $100., will the parents of each remaining contestant come to the stage and stand with your child." the announcer announces.
I wave my had for my aunt to come on stage and she runs on stage holding a board with my name on it, she puts her hand on my back.
" Third place goes to, Leo Robinson with his flaming socks." the announcer calls as everyone claps for him.
"I'm surprised that he didn't burn the school to a crisp." I whispered to Kendall in her ear
"Girl, I know I thought he wouldn't have made the top 5, hell I thought he would've gotten disqualified." She adds
"But good luck, girly pop." I say to her
"We will now announce our first prize winner, can I get a drum roll please". the announcer adds
" First place goes to, a girl with a wonderful voice, extreme talent and a very cute outfit, Ms. Carrington Alexander." the announcer adds.
The crowd roared as blue and yellow confetti flew across the stage as the announcer handed me a golden trophy. Everyone rushed up onto the stage and hugged me. Kai and DJ walked up to me and gave me a big hug.
"Congrats, tt". the boys said in unison
"thank you honey." I replied
I walked back into my dressing room and I opened the door to see Brooke and Paige standing there.
"Thank you guys for coming, it meant a lot to see my favorite influencers are here". I said
"no problem, are there any other events coming up for you because I'd love to bring my mom and her friends to the event." Brooke said.
"You'd bring Dance Mom Kelly." I said almost fainting
"Well my birthday party is in September and I'll be turning 18". I said
"Okay what's the date." Paige said
"September 13th". I said
"The theme is "Red Carpet Special", like the group dance from Episode 3 of Season 3 with Sophia". I said
"Wow that's nice". Brooke said
"Well, we'd better be off we have things to do". Paige said
"Okay thanks for coming." I said waving them off
Today I was the star of the show and the only thing you'll be hearing are jubilation bells.
