Today is my first offical date with my new boyfriend Chayce and I'm so nervous because it's been over 6 months since I've been on a date. The butterflies in my stomach have turned into snakes as I stand in my mirror getting ready.
On top of the fact that I'm going on a date and my breakup is still fresh, I have the award show in a few weeks and being in the studio recording my song which I'm almost done with and I have to help my parents with my siblings I totally deserve a break.
I'm supposed to babysit for my parents tonight but since I have my date tonight Brooke and Paige said that they'll babysit for me. I go into the bathroom to straighten my hair and put on make-up and jewelry. I slide on the charm bracelet that Uncle Gary got me as a going away gift a few months back and I put on eyeliner to even out my eye tones.
"Girl, you got this". I say looking in the mirror before walking out the bathroom and out to the living room.
Riley, Ryan and Canon are downstairs watching TV when I hear a knock on the door. I open it to see Chayce standing there with flowers in his hand.
"Damn, you look beautiful". Chayce said smirking at me.
"Thank you bae". I said hugging him
Just then Brooke and Paige walk onto the doorstep as Chayce goes inside.
"Hey girl. " Brooke said bringing me into a hug
"Hey, sorry I called you guys last minute." I said handing them some cash out of my purse
"no you don't have to pay us, just go have fun". she said giving me the cash back.
"y'all are awesome, I'll see y'all in about two hours ." I said
Chayce walks me out to his car and opens the door.
"such a gentleman". I said
He smiles as he kisses my cheek.
I think I wanna keep him forever.
Fifteen minutes later we arrive at a very fancy restaurant called La vie En Rose in southern San Francisco. It's pretty nice and pink, it's like Chayce knows that this is a rich girl's paradise.
"Woah bae, this is like my paradise". I say looking around at the pink aesthetic of the restaurant
" I picked it because I know how bad you're a slut for pink and for me of course." He said as we make our way to the table. We sit down and the waitress asks us what we would like for our drinks.
"I'll take a lemonade please." I say
"Same here". Chayce said
"Okay, I'll be right back with that." She said walking away
I stare into Chayce's eyes that sparkle like a firework on the 4th of July. He caresses my hand as we wait for our drinks.
"So Carrington tell me more about yourself". Chayce says to me still caressing my hands
" Well, I'm a first year student at UCLA, studying filmmaking, as you know I have 3 siblings and my parents are super famous". I said.
"oh, well I think you're an amazing girl." Chayce said rubbing the back of his neck
" well I think you are one amazing guy, and the right one for me". I said. Chayce leans in for a kiss.
As our lips lock I hear my phone ring and I pull it out. I grab my purse and run to the ladies' room, I look at my phone and I see that it's from Brooke.
"Hey Brooke, what's up". I said
" umm he takes Delsym before bed, don't give them any liquids , and they use Mr. Bubble Bubble Bath." I tell Brooke from the other end
"Noted, if you need anything else don't hesitate to call me."
As I'm walking out of the ladies' room I hear voices behind a pink bush as the leaves ruffle behind me. I pull the leaves back and I see three tall men disguised in beards.
"Umm , excuse me why are you three men by the ladies' room? I ask
And why do these men look so familiar.
"Oh, uhm we're here spying on-, I mean boys night out". The first guy said
"Spying on who"? I asked while furrowing my eyebrows
" Did we say spying, well that's something we'd never do." The second guy said
"Oh ok, just one question?" I say pulling the fake beard from the man's face
"How dumb do you think I am Klay Alexander Thompson". I said holding his fake beard in my hand
"Ow... that shit hurt." Klay said holding his face
"Uncle Andre, Draymond reveal yourselves". I said
Uncle Andre and Draymond peel their mustaches off and they sigh.
"Look sweetheart, we're sorry we just couldn't help that you're growing up on us". Uncle Andre said
I stand there in shock realizing that my dad probably sent them to spy on me.
"Okay I know but, I'm 18 now and I was going to introduce you guys to him tomorrow at the game." I said to them
"oh you were, I didn't realize it". Klay said
"Well I thought you guys could handle me having a new boyfriend". I said "But I guess I was wrong."
The tears started to flow as I sat against the wall with my purse on the side of me. Uncle Andre kneels beside me as he brings me into a hug.
"I'm sorry, Carrington I just couldn't believe that my niece is growing up on me. I remember when I first met you back in 2013 and do you remember what you told me what you wanted to be when you grew up." Uncle Andre said
" That I wanted to be the next China Anne McClain." I said with the tears still flowing
"Right, and you've kept your promise to me that you'd be a star one day." he said wiping the black stained tears from my eyes
" I'm sorry, we just wanted to look out for you". Klay added
"Yeah, we just being the protective uncles but if you feel that way, we're sorry we crashed your date". Dray said
" Oh guys, I know you want to protect me but I just need the support from you guys, when my dad couldn't be there you guys where there." I said. " I know I'm grown up but I'll always and forever be who I was 10 years ago.
"So we good, sweetheart". Uncle Andre said holding his fist out
" We good". I say pounding him back
"Well I've got a date I'll see y'all at the game tomorrow". I said walking away
" Our little Carrington growing up". Klay said
"She sure is". Dray added
I sat back down with Chayce as the waitress brought out our cake.
"Shall we". Chayce said
"Let us eat cake". I added
