If you're wondering what the big day is it's the day I move into UCLA and officially become a Bruin.
I'm putting everything into boxes as Canon walks in.
" sissy, where are you going"? he asked me holding a Spider-Man toy in his hand.
I picked him up and sat him on my bed next to me.
" Big sis is heading to college in Los Angeles". I told him
" so you're going away for a few days". he says to me
I can see the sadness in his eyes as he talks to me.
"no it'll be a few months, CJ". I told him
my big sister instincts kick in as the tears swell his eyes like a waterfall.
" I don't want you to go". Canon says rubbing his eyes
"Aww, little bro come here". I say wrapping my arms around him rubbing his back
" I have to spread my wings and fly, but I promise I'll come and visit every weekend." I told him
"But look on the bright side you have your best friends Kai and DJ." I said to him
He nods his head in reassurance.
"Now, are you gonna be my big boy"? I said to him wiping the tears from his face
He nods his head rubbing his eyes.
I hold my pinky out and I interlock mine to his.
" promise me you'll be my big boy". I said to him
"promise". he says pinky swearing me back
I love being a big sister to him.
My parents walk in signaling me to pack up the cars. I grab a photo from my birthday party with me and my family and hold it in my palms trying not to tear up looking back at all the memories I've made here in these walls.
As I go outside to the car Uncle Gary pulls up with a small gift bag and he walks onto the porch.
"hey unc, what brings you back to the Bay"? I ask him
" well I forgot to give you a late birthday present". he says
I look at him in surprise and take the bag from him.
" thank you unc, lemme open it." I said
I open it and I see a charm bracelet with Hannah Montana on it and it also has a note in it that reads.
Dear Carrington.
Thank you for being the best niece I've ever had, you made me feel so comfortable when I arrived here last year. I'd also like to thank you for all the memories you and I created by going on all types adventures such as the Redwood forest, Topgolf, rock climbing and many more. Even though I'll be a Blazer this season you'll always have a place in my heart as the Joan of Arc in my life by helping me get out in the community and help kids with dyslexia. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to call me and you know I'll be up there in a heartbeat.

I looked at the note trying not to cry remembering that I won't have my Uncle Gary at my side because he was heading to Portland this October.
"aww, uncle gary i'll miss you". I said sobbing
Uncle Gary cradled me in his chest as I soaked his shirt with tears, my parents stood on the porch looking at this moment while holding hands.
"I lift my head out of Uncle Gary's chest as he grabs my face.
" you'll kill it out there baby girl, any girl with talents like you will make it anywhere out there." uncle gary said holding my face before planting a kiss on my cheek.
"I'll see you at your games when I can unc, I promise". I said wiping more tears from my eyes.
"alright baby I'll see you later." Uncle Gary says as he walks toward his car
" see you GP". Dad said waving him off.
I go back into the house and start to bring out boxes to put into the cars. I ended up putting all the boxes into the cars in 15 minutes flat and I go inside and grab my purse from my hook in my room and look over my room one last time.
"Ready to rock, princess". Dad said to me with his arms folded
" yea I'm ready daddy". I said
" I know it's a big change sweetheart, but you got it". He says holding his fist out
We fist bump as I walk out the door of my room toward the front door as I walk out of the house and shut the door, as I walk out I proceed do something like this.
