My parents and I arrive on UCLA's main campus for check in. I find a parking spot to park my car to unload everything and my parents park next to me.
When we enter for me to get my keys and paperwork for move in day I see Nia standing there as an assistant.
"OMG, Nia you're an assistant for the freshmen". I said
" yes girl I am." Nia said
" hey look it's Steph and Ayesha Curry". some random fan called out
" oh no". Nia and I said in unison
10,000 people started running toward us with Sharpie markers and posters waiting for my dad to sign autographs when security came rushing to descalate the crowd.
" Mr Curry is here to sign his daughter into college, back off". a security guard said
The crowd simmered down once the stern voice of the security telling them to back off.
" thank you sir" I said shaking his hand
"anytime kiddo, but can I get your dad's autograph". the security guard said jumping up and down.
" sure, but can you escort me to my room so I can escape this paparazzi". I asked
" anything for you". he said taking some boxes out of my car
" I'll be heading to room 434 at Sproul Hall". I tell him
As we arrive at Sproul hall I open the door to see I have my own suite. It's nothing like my room back at home and I'm quite surprised.
" Wow, this is nice." I say gazing into the ceiling
Mom and Dad start to unpack the boxes.
" Mom be careful with those because my Marie Antoinette figurine is in there". I said
" Okay honey, what are we gonna do with all these Marie Antoinette and pink stuff". mom said holding a poster of Marie Antoinette in the 2006 feature film starring Kristen Dunst.
" Pink is a lifestyle for me mom, you should know this". I said laughing
I started to put my essentials in the bathroom and clean it. I then pulled out my charm bracelet that Uncle Gary got me and I put it on as we finished setting up my room until all freshmen were called down for early check-in again.
"Mom, Dad I gotta go for check-in again to see my classes." I said
I kneel down to Canon and hold out my pinky to his as he starts to cry again.
" Okay CJ, promise big sissy you'll be a big boy and I'll see you this weekend and when I come back I'll take you and your friends to Legoland." I said hugging him
"promise." he says pinky swearing me back
"Okay, mom and dad I guess I'll see you this weekend". I say sighing
My parents look at me with tears in their eyes.
"our little princess is leaving the castle to be queen". Dad says wiping tears from his eyes
" you sure as hell raised a warrior princess, now this little mermaid has to swim on her own." I say to him
My dad holds his hand out to me.
"Plant her there". he says
I hold my hand back out and plant it on his hand.
"planted." I said back to him shaking his hand.
He then hugs me as I leave out the door of my room.
" Gonna miss everything we've done as father-daughter". I said to my dad as I looked back.
My parents and my little brother wave me off as I head to check-in.
