I'm so geeked and let me tell you why. I got the opprotunity to be nominated to host the 43rd Annual Teen Scene Awards and guess what ?
I got it...
And guess who my competition was? If you guessed Kendall and Kalani you are right, so now here's yet another Raven moment.
Flashback
" So are all my nominees ready." Nancy O'Dell asked as she looked through the list of candidates
"So we have Carrington Marie, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, Charli D'Amelio, Mackenzie Ziegler, GiaNina Paoloantonio and Hannah Colin. Nancy called as all of us stepped up onto the stage.
" So girls, I think I've narrowed it down to my top three. Gia, Hannah, Kenz and Charli you three are amazing but I think those three girls behind you gave you a run for your money. " Nancy said
"So I'm sorry girls but today is not your day, you may leave."
Gia, Hannah, Charli and Kenzie walk off the stage humbly and take their seats.
Kendall, Kalani and I stand together hoping one of us gets picked. Kendall and Kalani look at me with the angriest stares hoping that I don't get picked like the jealous little bitches they are.
"And your host for the 2023 Teen Scene Awards goes to... Ms. Carrington Marie". Nancy said with her clipboard in her hand
" I won !" I screamed jumping up and down with joy.
"Congrats sweetheart." Nancy said patting my back
Well if you thought that me winning the host of the award show was bad according to Kendall and Kalani ... it gets worse
"So are you gonna let some tranny host this show rather than a perfectionist like me". Kendall screamed
"Kendall, I chose who I chose for the award show, let it go". Nancy said
" Kendall watch who you talking to girly pop". I said
" ugh, I'm outta here." Kendall said pushing me off the stage.
"Kendall, why would you do that." Nancy yelled
" because she won the title of host". Kendall said with tears in her eyes
" OMG, Kendall... just go". Nancy said pointing Kendall out of the auditorium
what a child...
Raven moment over.
I'm heading to Chase Center to work on some homework in my office. When I arrive the whole team starts clapping as I walk into the gym.
"Why the applause ?" I ask
" This is your first major event". Draymond said
"Oh, I know but I'm nervous as fuck." I said
"We know but you'll have us behind you." Jordan said as all the guys nodded in agreement.
I hugged my dad and I walked toward my office. When I arrived inside I pulled out my Ipad and started to write stuff down for my opening speech at the Teen Scene Awards, I learned from watching my dad host the ESPYS in July.
I also thought about releasing a song. It's not an original but it's a cover of Annelise Collette's song Stellar from Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition. I don't remember the lyrics so I wrote them down trying to memorize every stanza. As I wrote the lyrics down Uncle Gary walks in.
"Hey pumpkin, you alright". Uncle Gary said walking into my office
" Yeah I'm alright just trying to get ready for these awards." I said setting my pencil down.
"I've also been seeing this guy for a while now." I tell Uncle Gary
" oh word, who is he?" Uncle Gary asks
"His name is Chayce, I met him at influencer speed dating". I said
Uncle Gary looks at me and raises his eyebrow. " So how long have y'all been dating ?" he asks
" two weeks, which is awkward because it feels like I've known him for years." I said looking into the ceiling
" Oh well if he ever hurt you tell him your Uncle Gary doesn't play". Uncle Gary says laughing at me.
"Noted unc, well I've got work to do so I'll talk to you later." I said signaling him out of my office
" See you later baby." He says walking out
I love my Uncle Gary...
