Uncle Gary and I arrive at the arcade to play some games for the second thing on our bucket list. I look around the place for dance dance revolution and I find it sitting in a back corner. I brighten up as I see the lights flashing on the screen.
"you ready to get this party started." I say looking at uncle gary
" ready." uncle gary says looking at me
I walk with uncle gary over to the game and insert a coin inside, we then step onto the plate and dance to the Shake It Up theme song.
" aww yeah I'm on a roll". Uncle Gary said
"ha, in your dreams". I say back rubbing my eyes.
The game was over and Uncle Gary won. I jumped onto him and gave him a bear hug.
"Congrats uncle gary". I said smiling
"Thank you baby girl". He said kissing my forehead.
I start to walk toward the other games when I start to feel uneasy. My throat starts to tighten and I feel like I'm about to cry.
Uncle Gary was in the laser tag room when I sat outside alongside the entrance with my palms in my face. He kneels down to me and pats me on my shoulder.
"you alright baby" ? he asks
" no, i'm not uncle gary". I sob as I stare into his eyes.
" All I wanted was for this day to be perfect, I had a whole bucket list and nothing worked out." I sniffled. Uncle Gary cradled me in his arms and ran his fingers through my hair.
" aww, sweetie I had a wonderful day, just to spend time with you was the best thing that happened to me today." He says wiping my eyes with his thumbs which become stained with eyeliner.
I wipe my eyes as Uncle Gary holds his fist out to me.
" We good champ." He says
" We good". I reply
He brings me into a hug and we walk toward the concession stand.
" You hungry"? Uncle Gary asks me
" I could eat". I reply
" Hi how can I help-, OMG it's GPII and Carrington"! she screams
" Girl calm yo ass down..." I say covering her mouth
"ooh my bad, what y'all want". she says
" Ummm we'll take some buffalo wings". Uncle Gary says
"Okay we'll have that out for you in about 10 minutes." the cashier says ringing it up. " Don't worry it's on the house." (winking)
"Oh thank you"- I said nervously
Uncle Gary and I find a seat by the arcade games and we wait for our wings. As we wait for the wings I stare off into the sky thinking about Bryce.
Damn it..
"It's been months since we've broke up". I thought to myself
About ten minutes later the wings came out and I was beyond excited.
thank the gods...
"shall we". I said to uncle gary
" go 'head". he replied to me
I dive straight for the wings and buffalo sauce is all over my face which causes Uncle Gary to chuckle.
" You got a lil sauce on-". Uncle Gary says pointing at my lips
" I do-". I said laughing
I reach for a napkin and wipe my face, Uncle Gary is looking at me eating the wings so savagely.
" Damn unc is it that good". I say to him
" Yea these jawns buss". He says licking his fingers.
I smile at him and wink.
" I love you Uncle". I say looking in his eyes
" Love you more niece". He replies.
I really was in for the thrill...
