some people look genuinely happy. and others well they just look plain dead. one person can meet another and their life can change drastically. it's honestly insane how the butterfly effect works. everything that happens they say happen for a reason. and it was hard for violet hart to believe that until she met them. the four people who saved her.
"okay, well this is your room. please feel at home that's all i want for you." annie said with a smile.
"yeah, it's cute. thanks." violet said her bandaged face stretching into a sad smile.
"okay well if you need anything i'll be in the other room, yeah?" annie said checking again.
"i'm okay, annie. i promise." she said softly to assure the young women that everything was fine even though it necessarily wasn't.
"okay. okay. um. just get settled in and we'll go get something to eat. your choice." annie said smiling at the younger girl who had scratch's on her face and a bandage stitch on her bottom lip.
"sounds good. thank you." violet said before annie walked away. she closed her door behind her before walking over to the bed and laying down. it was soft and pretty comfortable. but she missed being home. she missed her life. so badly. she rolled over on her side before placing her phone on the side table. and next thing she knew her eyes shut and she was asleep.
annie had walked into her room two hours later and found her sound asleep. she knew that violet needed sleep so she'd let her be. considering the young girl started school in a week she needed all the rest she could get.
violet randomly woke up and checked her phone it was three in the morning. "shit." she said quietly before getting up and walking out of the room. she walked to the kitchen and got some water in a glass cup. she coughed slightly at her sore throat before taking a drink.
"how are you doing?" a voice asked scaring her shitless.
"oh my god. you scared me." violet said turning around to see annie sitting on the couch with her computer in her lap textbooks beside her along with notebooks. she had a blue soft blanket sprawled across her lap and her hair up in a messy bun. "you want some water?" violet asked.
"sure, thanks." annie said with a smile.
"why didn't you wake me up?" violet asked after getting the cup of water and sitting down next to annie.
"you were sleeping. and honestly after the past three weeks you've had i thought you needed it." violet nodded at the nice gesture.
"well thank you. but we should go and get something tomorrow because im craving some mcdonald's." violet said with a small chuckle before taking another sip of water.
"why not now? i know a twenty-four-hour one it's like fifteen minutes away." annie said raising her eyebrows for a response.
"wait are you serious?"
"duh."
"oh my gosh, yes, please!" violet exclaimed.
the two girls slipped some shoes on and off they went to mcdonald's. violet hadn't been very happy since the accident. the guilt, the sadness, the grief it was all so hard to deal with and this happiness felt really refreshing but she didn't want to get to attached considering nothing lasts forever..
