violet had skipped a week of school and annie was forcing her to go because if violet would've gotten a truancy annie would lose guardianship. it would all be okay if leon went to school but he was homeschool and that wasn't going to change all because violet made a dumb decision.

"i'm sorry. i wish i could let you stay home but i really can't." annie said as they pulled up to the school.

"i know. don't be sorry it's not your fault." violet said quietly before getting out of the car and into the school she went. as she approached her locker she seen nick, matt and chris standing at chris' she put her head down and tried to hide that she was there. as she opened her locker she felt eyes on her. she tried to ignore it but after she got her things she looked over at them on accident matt was side eyeing her, nick was glaring and chris was standing there not in the mood for confrontation.

violet sighed before shutting her locker and walking off to math. as she got in the classroom she sat down. chris walked up to the teacher and asked but the teacher shut it down and told him to sit down. and he sat by violet, she looked at him with sad eyes. she wrote on a piece of paper: i'm sorry, i miss you and handed it over to him.

chris opened it his eyes lingered in the paper. "i can't take this." he said quietly handing it back over.

violet crumpled the paper up and stuffed it in her pencil bag and laid her head down on the desk. she fell asleep and by the end of the class the teacher had woke her up. "shoot. i'm sorry." she exclaimed grabbing her books and quickly rushing out of the class and accidentally bumped into someone and just her luck it was matt.

he got down and helped her. "all because i'm helping you doesn't mean i forgive you. i'm just a gentleman that's all." he stated sternly handing the books over to violet.

violet nodded, "i just want you to know—" and before she could finish he walked away. she sighed tears welding in her eyes. she went into the office and told the nurse she didn't feel well and annie came and picked her up.

they sat in silence for a little. "why the hell did you tell them you felt sick?" annie asked looking at the girl. "you need to go to school. i highly doubt your parents would be proud of this behavior." and she had instant regret.

violet looked at annie on the urge of sobbing. she quickly got up and went to her room locking the door behind her. annie wiggled the handle. "look, i'm sorry, vi. i am it just came out."

"go away."

and annie did. but after she fell asleep violet wrote a letter to annie and placed it on the couch. she tightened her backpack straps and out the door she went.

she was riding on a subway alone her eyes scanning the night sky. after she had reached her destination she smiled softly to herself. "i miss you." she said looking at the sky as she sat down on the rocks. "dammit only if i didn't go out that night. i'm so sorry." violet said a sob escaping her lips. "you deserved better. i wish it was me up there not you guys." a few tears rolled down her cheeks.
