the triplets were at violets house with annie. the five of them were just hanging out for a few hours and finally it was ten seconds until it was released.
"ten! nine! eight! seven! six! five! four! three! two! one!" they shouted and then the song started playing. everyone sing along this is all violet wanted her whole life. everything about her life felt so unreal, it felt fairytale like. and she would've wished for nothing more.
after the song the boys went home and annie and violet were just hanging out when she had gotten a phone call.
"hello?" she asked.
"hey, violet." penelope's voice came through the speaker.
"oh, hey. is mimi okay?" violet asked.
"your song is beautiful." penelope said avoiding the question.
"penny? is mimi okay?" violet asked her chest rising up and down quicker by the second.
"im afraid not. considering you're her only family left you have the choice if we pull the plug. um. and if— if— i think you need to come and see her. i'll explain everything when you do. i promise."
the phone slipped out of violets hand. "vi?" annie asked walking up to the girl. violets head felt light. and next thing she knew she fell to the floor. annie waited for her to wake up. she knew that violet wouldn't want the doctors and she was breathing.
and when she did she looked around hoping it was all a dream. "oh, honey." annie said looking at violet with tears.
"am i dreaming?" she asked her voice soft.
"no. i'm guessing you fainted from shock. i'm sorry. i'm here for you always, vi, i promise." annie said a year falling down her face.
violet hugged annie tight. a sob escaped her mouth. they sat on the floor holding each other. dammit everyone was dying.
