it's been a month since she visited her mimi and leon was moving to boston in a week. and homecoming was in a week as well. and her birthday was in two months. she was going to be eighteen holy shit.

she was sitting on her bed writing in her journal when there was a knock on her bedroom door. "come in." it was annie. "oh hey."

"hey, i'm bored out of my mind." she said groaning in boredom flopping onto violets bed. "are the triplets gonna come over. i'm bored and they're fun. you're kinda being lame right now."

"a twenty-one-year-old woman is wanting to hang out with a couple of dim witted seventeen-year-olds? is that what you're saying to me?" violet asked laughing at annie.

"don't call me a woman. it makes me sound old."

"you are old."

"i am not!" annie said throwing a pillow at violet.

"um. okay i'm going to try and get this out as smooth as i can." he said his voice shaking.

"did someone die?" she asked honestly really scared.

"no! god no!" matt said his eyes widening. violet let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "okay i'm just going to ask. would you like to go to homecoming with me?" he asked quickly.

violet was stunned, he was asking he as friends right? "sure." she slipped out a smile on her face.

his smile grew, "okay. cool." nick and chris walked up to the two.

"why's matt so cheery?" nick asked.

"because i said yes to homecoming." violet said smiling at nick.
