violet was sharing her song where do we go now that she wrote when her and the triplets were in a fight but she specifically wrote it for matt she didn't know why. but she did. and she only told chris and nick that it was specifically for matt because she needed them to tell her why.
"you have a crush on him. it's obvious." chris said bluntly. matt was in the kitchen making some popcorn.
"i do not!" violet then paused, "maybe i do. do i?"
"well do you?" nick asks his eyes wide.
"that's definitely not an answer." violet stated her eyebrows knitted together as she thought. "i do. i really do."
"you're lying. that's not true. why matt?" nick asks just before matt walked through the door.
"why me what?" matt asks confused.
"violet likes you too." chris blurted out. violet looked at him with wide eyes. matt looked at her curious. "just kidding. i got you, you actually thought!" chris laughed playing it off. she could hear the disappointment in matt's fake laugh.
she was going to tell him soon. but she didn't want to do it around chris and nick. and when she did, she would like it if anything did happen to keep it a secret.
so the night went on and they ended up staying over the next day they went home and violet had texted matt that night to meet her at the house considering annie was gone visiting her family. she made sure to include not telling nick and chris where he was going.
there was a knock on the door. she took a deep breath before opening it to see matt. "hey." he said confused.
"hey, sorry. i— we need to talk."
"uh, oh, mom what did i do wrong?" matt asked laughing at her.
"i like you too." she said quickly.
"what? is there a hidden camera? is this a prank? did chris put you up to this?" math asked looking around.
"no, no, no, i'm serious i do. where do we go now is actually about you. i didn't know why until i talked to chris and nick about it, and when chris blurted it out he covered it up so that i would be able to tell you." she ranted.
there was a smile on matt's face. the two sat on the couch in comfortable silence just thinking. thinking about everything that had just happened it was embarrassing or awkward.
violet looked at matt. he looked back at her and she leaned in the two kisses she felt him smile a little in it, so she did too. "i like you." she said softly.
"i like you, too." he said back with a smile before kissing her again.
