Chapter 9

Ghost sat up and he kept watch to make sure nothing happened . He looked down at you and saw how peaceful you looked when sleeping . peace was something that was deserved and well needed towards you . Ghost looked and saw through one of the cracks on the window that it was finally morning . soap rested on his rifle while the others laid on the floor . Ghost wondered how anyone got sleep with soaps unbearable snoring . Soaps snoring is the equivalent to a dad snoring . It sounds like some rabid creature . you left Ghost thinking about last night about what you had told him . What you told him was just a mere chunk of what you went through but there was way more than just that . He wondered about the woman you told him about , Shuri . He was soon broken from his thoughts when you moved around and rubbed your eyes . you got comfortable again and you kept sleeping . After 15 minutes passed, soap was the first one to wake up . soap had the lovely idea and he went towards some rocks on top of Gaz's head . Gaz soon woke up from the snickering that came from soap and when he sat up and gaz gave soap an annoyed look . Price yawned while waking up as well , putting his hat back on his head . soap went over to you to try and mess with you but Ghost pulled you closer to him and he gave him a stern look .
'' I would watch who you bother, Johnny . ''
He said in a low tone .
his eyes told soap everything and soap nervously rubbed the back of his neck . somehow you were in the apocalypse now and somehow soap manages to still act like an ass you woke up slowly , seeing that everyone was awake . you almost forgot about the situation that you were in but the groans from outside brung you back and made you remember . you heard the groans from the infected from the outside which you wondered how you even slept through that. It sounded like there were at least 2 to 3 outside which wasn't a large number like the hoard that was on your ass yesterday . you got off of Ghost's shoulder and you stood up slowly , getting a good stretch in . you dusted yourself off and you adjusted the bow on your back and you adjusted it so you could put the backpack you had on your back which you did so . The others stood up as well and you saw that it was light outside .
'' We exit from behind . keep focused and alert , we can't afford to lose anyone .''
Price said sternly as he brushed past you and the others heading to the back . The others made small agreements and followed . you stepped over the woman that was there and you looked down at her and made a frown and muttered a small sorry . you saw a sheet and you grabbed it and laid it over her face . you headed back to the others and Price got his knife ready . The others did as well but you had other plans . you took the bow an arrow off your back and you took one arrow and you got it ready and you cocked the arrow back . The others didn't question how you knew to use one and they nodded to each other before Price kicked open the metal door to the back and you stepped outside cautiously . you crouched behind a dumpster seeing two of the infected and you took one out with your arrow piercing its skull . It fell to the ground and you saw the arrow sticking out of the back of its head causing you to look in disgust . Soap handled the other nearby mutant . You took the arrow out of the mutants head and you placed it back in your arrow carrier . You looked down at your kill and saw that it was a man . His skin was pale and his eyes were a blue-ish pale color . He had multiple scratches on him and he was cut up badly . Only conclusion was that he got infected. You nodded and the others did as well and you started walking through the streets again cautiously. You saw cars on fire and you saw a few stores . you stepped over the debris on the street and you stood close to Ghost . you looked up at the skull masked man you've grown fond of and gave him a tiny smile . you walked and looked up to see broken buildings and piles of bricks laid around . soap saw a tea shop and turnt to Ghost with a little grin .
'' missin queen Lizzy yet ? .''
Soap teased as he pointed to the tea shop
Ghost snapped his head towards soap and pointed his finger at him .
'' oi you keep the queen's name out your mouth you muppet .''
Ghost snapped .
You noticed how this affected Ghost and you flipped off soap causing him to give a confused look to price .
'' did i just get flipped off by a 14 year old ?.''
Soap said a bit shocked and dramatically .
'' leave Ghost alone .''
You said, rolling your eyes playfully .
Ghost is very sensitive about the queen , when he heard that she passed he literally sobbed in his room after one mission . Ghost is like a loyal hound towards the queen . he takes it very seriously when it comes to his tea and the queen .
'' Ghosts got a little protector huh .''
Soap giggled .
You elbowed him in his ribs causing him to wince and you laughed lightly .
'' oww akright jeez .''
Soap said as he rubbed his side .
'' enough messing around we have things to do .''
Price said, causing everyone to go quiet .
After about 2 hours of walking you came across the police station . while on your way you had taken out a few more mutants but you stood hidden for the most part while doing so . you entered the police station and you took out your flashlights and you scanned the area walking carefully . you saw a few of the mutants and you took out multiple arrows and shot them dead . you walked over to them taking back your arrows and putting them in your arrow holder .
'' head to the security room we might be able to find something there .''
Gaz said .
The others nodded in agreement and you went to continue walking but you were stopped by Ghost .
'' stay close , and stay with me .''
He said sternly .
You walked for a bit through the station and you saw many what used to be police officers scattered dead on the floor , assuming they were already killed by people . you made your way to the security room and there was a radio .
'' fuck yeah we did it .''
You said as you looked at the others with a little smile .
'' alright let's see if it works .''
Orice said as he grabbed the mic . He turned up the volume and messed with the signals until he heard a clear voice , it was a lady's voice .
'' Leave the city please , if you are hearing this please listen . There's a facility up in Utah going south . may god be with you all and stay safe .''
The lady spoke , static coming through every time she said something.
'' were all the way in mexico how the hell are we getting to utah .''
Gaz said, losing a bit of hope .
'' yeah were all the way in west bubble fuck so how the hell are we getting there .''
You said , confused .
Soap giggled at your comment and gave everyone a confused look .
'' Then we head out now , rations are gonna go low soon so we gotta find some things to bring along with us to eat . ''
Soap spoke .
'' alright then .''
You said .
This was all new to you. You got to see new places and new things but that came with a cost , which was your life . you couldn't wonder or else you might end up infected if you come into physical contact with the mutants . holy shit it was gonna be one hell of a ride but at least you had Ghost , and the others of course .
