Chapter 13

You had started to pick up the pace when you saw a few houses ahead .
'' holy shit look .''
You said a bit excited.
'' i see that , be ready boys .''
Price spoke .
They held up their rifles and their knives were close to them.
You had arrived in texas and boy was it hot , you were covered in sweat and dirt stuck to your skin well from the sweat . you craved a shower but who knows maybe it'll rain or something. You didn't really like the heat necessarily but you made dew and didn't complain. Ghost saw the sweat dripping down your face and neck and he walked over to you and he pulled a cloth from his vest and he wiped your face . you scrunch your nose at the sudden contact and you giggled.
He made sure that your sweat was ridden from your face and was at least cleaned up a little. You gave him a thank you nod and he nodded towards you basically saying your welcome . At this point you and Ghost didnt even need to speak to be able to understand each other. It was like you knew everything about him but you really didn't know much . Ghost had the urge to find out who your father was and kill him on the spot for being a shitty father . Ghost had a shitty father as well but he wanted to do something he couldn't for himself when he was younger , fight. He wanted to make sure you were protected and he wanted to kill your father for killing your mother but not only that but bringing on bioterrorism and for being the fault of you getting trafficked . he burned with rage just thinking about it but he kept his calm composer for your sake. Soap and the others had only seen Ghost get extremely angry when soap had nearly died on one mission . It was the first and last time soap had ever made that mistake . soap didn't know why he cared for you so much . soap has seen the man so quiet and cold but ever since you have come along and basically joined the team he's been more light than usual . Ghosts' mood has had a boost ever since you've been here . Diggs walked a bit slowly and he was panting . The poor thing was probably overheating from the Texan sun. you wished you could pick him up and carry him but he was twice your size . a vice in the distance caught your attention and you soon heard the voice clearly .
'' Help me please !.''
A man said in the distance .
He held his side as blood dripped down his hand and soaked his clothes .
You went to run over but someone grabbed your wrist . it was Ghost .
'' could be a ambush , dont .''
Ghost said sternly as he held his rifle close .
He picked up his rifle and looked down at you .
'' don't look...''
He said sternly and quietly .
Regardless of what you've seen so far , he didn't want you to see anymore of it . you've been traumatized enough . you turned away and you jumped a little when you heard a gunshot go off. The shouts of the man stop and you let out a little shaky breath that you didn't know that you were holding in .
'' let's keep moving .''
Price spoke and you kept walking .
You nodded and you started up walking again.
You walked towards the houses slowly and you saw multiple mutants up ahead . Ghost grabbed his knives and he got ready to strike. Diggs started to growl and he walked between your legs while you walked to protect you . Diggs was GHost in a sense . He was wanting to protect you .
You got closer and Ghost and the others silently took out the mutants , even though they had rifles they really didn't want to risk anything else . you walked and had finally entered the neighborhood . it was ditched , no one was around but the dead but after your encounter that you had it shows that there might just be survivors . The streets were like any other normal neighborhood , just filled with dead people . you saw some sort of can that was on the ground and you went over to it and you shook it and you pressed the tip . a colorful spray came out of it and it was the color green . the others came over to you and they saw what it was .
'' found spray paint huh .''
Gaz spoke and you nodded.
'' can we explore this ?.''
You said to Ghost asking to look around .
'' later .''
He said blankly .
It wasn't unusual that you were very curious since you haven't seen much but it was all a blur until you saw a woman , she looked familiar and you saw her walking down the street with a dog. She wore ripped jeans and a burgundy hood . She had tan skin and had short brown hair.
You stopped dead in your tracks and you stood there in shock . there was no way it couldn't be you thought . Ghost and the others got their knives ready but you ran over to the woman . she had looked at you confused but when she saw you she started running as well . she opened her arms and you ran and jumped and wrapped your arms around her and embraced her in a tight hug . Ghost and the others looked at her with a smug look but stopped when they saw you smile towards her.
'' shuri...''
You said quietly but happily.
'' y/n is been forever .''
She said pulling away from you .
'' whos this little fella .''
You said while petting the dog that was with her .
'' this is daisy , she's a belgian shepherd.''
She said,
'' i see you have your own dog too .''
She said while looking down at Diggs.
'' oh this is diggs , he's some large breed of dog . ''
You said, shrugging your shoulders.
Ghost was gonna shoot but he changed his mind
'' maam ?.''
Soap said confused .
'' oh i'm shuri...''
She said towards the Scottish man .
'' shuri..''
Ghost said quietly as he stepped closer to her .
'' you were with y/n...we found her and rescued her before all this shit happened . how did you get here.''
He asked . getting a bit of a fearful look out of her .
'' don't worry , thats Ghost . he's been taking good care of me .''
You smile while standing next to him .
She was a bit fearful of them but since you trusted them she knew that it was okay .
'' i escaped not too long ago and have been living life here in texas by myself , its been a while but holy shit i thought you were dead.''
Shuri said as she teared up . she cared deeply for you and you knew it .
'' i knew you were still out here.''
You spoke .
'' where are you headed ?.''
She asked .
'' were headed to utah i'm pretty sure .''
Price said as he looked at the map .
'' Hey , I can help you out with that . i have a truck with supplies at my house not to long from here .''
Shuri said, pointing down more into the neighborhood .
'' why help ?.''
Soap said , feeling suspicious .
'' because you helped y/n which did more alot for me now .''
She said while looking at you .
Ghost didnt know what to think of this woman but he really wasn't fond of her . He didn't trust her even if she helped you . trust no one is his motto . he also did not like you near her but he stood quiet .
'' why should we trust you .''
Ghost said sternly, getting a fearful look from Shuri .
'' w-well i just want to help and i-im glad that y/n is safe with you guys but i cannot go with you .''
She said quietly getting a confused look from you .
'' Wait, why ?.''
You said you were confused.
'' i'll explain later but for now we must head off .''
She explained and you nodded understandably .
'' let's head off boys , follow the lady .''
Price spoke and the others nodded following orders .
You were glad that Shuri was with you now but you were also confused on why she couldn't go but soon you would find out everything.
