Chapter 14

A/n- I'm back 😭 , miss me tho ? . Anyways enjoy this chapter and sorry if it's a little short but enjoy :)

You held onto Diggs' leash tightly ,making sure he didn't run off and you walked through the neighborhood alongside Ghost . soap made small talk with her which wasn't uncommon for him; he was just a bit of a social butterfly . you walked for a few more minutes , seeing ash and low dim lit fires scattered throughout and crushed cars were there as well . you stopped in front of a nice looking home and you saw Shuri open the door with a key and step inside . You saw that there was also a truck sitting on the driveway , it was a black f 250 and it had a skull on the back which reminded you of Ghost. She opened the door and let the others in first and then she let you in as well . you tapped her on her shoulder and she looked down at you and gave a small smile.
'' what's wrong ?.''
She asked .
'' is there a bathroom , i need to change my pad .''
You said quietly earning a chuckle from soap , his snickering soon stopped and you heard him say ow and rub his arm assuming that Ghost hit him. You rolled your eyes and Shuri nodded to you and she led you to the bathroom next to the kitchen and she let you in . you closed the door behind you and stripped from your pants real quick and you changed it out. You were quick with it and you washed your hands and you made sure that you were somewhat clean and you left the bathroom and went into the kitchen to see the others sitting down on the stools that were there . you looked around and saw pictures of her and her dog but a picture of her and someone else assuming it was a family member or husband of sorts. You shrugged it off and you saw that Diggs was playing with daisy and you smiled at the sight before you . you walked up to Ghost and you looked at him with a blank look getting a confused grunt from him. You shook your head and giggled a bit and you headed over to Shuri . She turned to face you and she handed you some food .
'' put it in your bag just in case okay .''
She said and you nodded .
You took the bag off your back and you opened it up and put the food in making sure it was secure and okay . she threw in a mini aid kit in there as well before you zipped it up and slung it back on your back. She grabbed her truck keys from a drawer and she whistled for Daisy and she instantly stopped playing with Diggs and trotted over to Shuri . Diggs gave a confused whine but he went back to you when you called for him and you put his leash back on since soap handed it to you . Shuri silently motioned with her hands to head outside and the others nodded and you all headed outside . you all headed into the front and she opened the doors to the truck and she got in . price got in the front and gaz sat on the right side in the back along with soap on the left and price in the middle . Ghost sat in the front with you and diggs were placed below Ghost's feet in the front . It was a pretty big truck so there was room for everyone.
She turned on the truck and started to head off down the street . ghost stared at her the whole time, basically given the death glare . you didn't know what to do but you looked at shuri .
'' so how come you cant come with us ?.''
You asked.
'' i can't risk being found by police , i'm kinda wanted for smuggling my brother over the borders of mexico heh...''
She said,
'' oh...well im sure youll be safe .''
You said reassuringly .
'' still can't risk it kid .''
she spoke .
'' so how did they find you ?.''
She asked .
'' well Ghost found me .''
You said while looking up at the skulled masked man .
'' found her in a box , she was being transported . killed the guys and took her in .''
He said sternly , keeping you close .
He did this because he really didn't trust her yet and because he wanted to protect you .
'' wait you know each other ?.''
Gaz said confused , looking between you and shuri .
'' yeah...we were together when we got captured.''
You said quietly , not liking to bring up that topic .
Gaz made a small 'o' with his mouth and looked away knowing what you meant .
'' were heading to a facility in utah to see if they over there can help us .''
Price said.
You looked out the window and saw that you were now on a highway filled with empty cars that were destroyed . Shuri drived around them and made sure not to hit anything . It was a hassle since you had to go all the way to Utah but the bigger thing was not knowing if you would get there alive .
" those facilities might be your best or worst resort , I've heard of it but can't trust that shit".
Shuri spoke .
" That's the least of our worries ."
Gaz said .
" all we know is that this shit is gonna be one hell of a trip ."
Price replied .
" what if we don't make it or there's not enough room so they can't take us ."
You said while thinking of all the things that could happen .
" It will be okay Dont worry ."
Ghost said .
How did you truly know you were gonna be okay? . Well you didn't , death follows everywhere and running with task force 141 wasn't the safest either . It was either that or basically get eaten alive.

You jolted awake and looked around to see that you were now on a bridge with many cars blocking it . You rubbed your eyes and you saw everyone get out of the truck. You grabbed your bag and put it on your back along with your stuff and you got out with diggs . You looked around to see that a giant green sign read " Oklahoma". You shook your head and walked over to ghost and saw him looking down at the map.
" We have to go through Kansas and Colorado all the way to get to Utah . "
He sighed.
" It'll be rough but you'll make it , I know you guys will ."
Shuri said reassuringly through her truck window.
You walked up to the truck window and you looked at her with a sad look in your eyes .
" Will I see you again ?."
You asked .
" I don't know y/n , but please take care of yourself and stay with your little group. I'll see you again one day ."
She gave a tiny smile .
You gave a tiny smile back and tried not to think about her going and you nodded and walked back to the others.
" Aye stay out of trouble and you boys take care of her ."
She said towards them and mostly Ghost .
They all nodded and she started up her truck again and she headed back . You watched as the truck rolled back down the bridge carefully and you breathed in deeply and exhaled out .
You didn't think you would all of a sudden see her again but yet again you don't know who you'll see anymore now that what is happening.
It would be a long road ahead and you and the others all knew that . How do you even know that was a real broadcast ? . You tried not to think of it much but your thoughts were running . You had to stay focused and calm . You didn't arrive yet but you knew that it would be somewhat worth it , you would see all new wonders and new things. Many things awaited you on your journey but all you needed was to keep on trail .
