Chapter 5: Secret confessions

The next day

General POV

When Trisha got to school, the first person she saw was Adriano. He started walking towards her but she turned the other way and walked into a random empty classroom. She took a sigh of relief and hoped he didn't follow her. That didn't last long though as she heard his voice.

Adriano: Hey Trisha-
Trisha: I don't wanna talk Adriano.
Adriano: Why not? Did I do something wrong?
Trisha: N-no...
Adriano: It's about the kiss, isn't it?
Trisha: You remember?
Adriano: *smiles* Well yeah. I can't forget a kiss as amazing as that.
Trisha: Adriano, you were under the influence and I wasn't in my right state of mind.
Adriano: I wasn't drunk last night. Everything I did was genuine.
Trisha: That just makes it worse! You broke my sister's heart.
Adriano: That doesn't mean I'll break yours.
Trisha: I'm not allowed to date.
Adriano: I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend, I'm asking you to confess that the kiss we shared was more than what you say it was.

Trisha paused for a moment.

Trisha: Fine. That kiss was my first kiss and the most amazing one ever. That kiss left me wanting more. It made me want to rebel against my parents if I'd get more. The problem is that I fell for YOU and I kissed YOU.
Adriano: I get it-
Trisha: No you don't.
Adriano: Yes, I do! I get that you're scared I'll play you and break your heart but I promise you that's not the case.

Adriano sighed deeply and pinned Trisha against the wall.

Adriano: There's all this distance in between us. I want you to give in.
Trisha: I-
Adriano: Just give in. You can't hold back anymore and I can see it. There's all this tension between us caused by fear, but there doesn't have to be. I'll be honest with you, right now I don't care what your family, friends, or even what the school may think of me if I'm with you. Tell me if you want me too, but if you don't then just say so and I'll leave you alone. For good.

They stood in silence. Adriano moved away but she pulled him back to her.

Trisha: I give in.

He smirked and kissed her. He held her hands above her head with one hand and the other was on her waist. Trisha overcame the strength of his arm and she put her arms around his neck. Adriano used his other hand to lift her leg, but she stopped him. He understood and they continued to make out.

Soon they heard the bell ring. They broke apart and tried to catch their breath.

Trisha: I should...get to...my class.
Adriano: You don't have to.
Trisha: *smiles* Yes I do.

She gave him a peck on the cheek and made her way to the door. Adriano suddenly pulled Trisha towards her. Her hands rested on his chest and his hands were on her waist. Trisha blushed and looked down to hide it. Adriano lifted her chin and brought his face close to hers.

Adriano: You're cute, especially when you blush.

She felt her face heat up even more and she smiled.

Adriano: I guess I should walk you to class before you pass out.

Trisha just nodded, as her ability to speak was drowned in the butterflies she felt. He got her bag while she unlocked the door, and the two of them walked to their class.

Trisha: Can we keep this a secret, from everyone?
Adriano: Of course. It'll be our little secret.

They walked in like normal, along with their friends, and they sat down at their respective seats. Adriano and Trisha stole glances at each other a few times. Tawana, Aaron, Rebecca and Jess noticed this.

Rebecca: I wonder what happened at the party...
Jessica: Did she actually tell him?! Yayy!!
Tawana: Did Trisha keep her feelings for him a secret? What, that's crazy! I'm one of her best friends, she wouldn't keep that from me. I'm sure there's a good reason for the extra eye contact.
Aaron: Seems like he won the bet.

Adriano: So, Aaron?
Aaron: Alright Richards, you win the bet.
Daniel: I didn't think you'd be able to do it.
Adriano: Well I did. What about you, did you talk to her yet?
Daniel: I will when I find the right moment.
Aaron: Which is when?
Daniel: I'll ask her to prom.
Adriano: Focus on passing the finals before you ask her out then.
Daniel: My grades are better then yours Mr "I need my crush to tutor me on the most basic stuff so I can kick butt in the swimming pool".
Adriano: Why don't I give her the hint then? What do you say Aaron?
Aaron: Sounds good actually.
Daniel: What hint?

Adriano smirked and raised his eyebrows.

Daniel: Do it and I will never speak to you again.

Adriano and Aaron laughed while Daniel rolled his eyes.

After school

Adriano met up with Trisha after school and they decided to walk to Adriano's house.

Adriano: I forgot to ask, how was your dance competition?
Trisha: It was amazing! We won first place!
Adriano: That's great! Well, since you were lead dancer of course you guys did.
Trisha: It wasn't just me.
Adriano: I know it wasn't, but you were placed as the lead because you're that good.
Trisha: Thanks.
Adriano: Why don't we skip studying today?
Trisha: We can't.
Adriano: Why not? I think I'm good with it now.
Trisha: I beg to differ. You need more practice.
Adriano: *sighs* Fine. But only if we study in my room.
Trisha: That's fine with me.

Adriano hugged her and she smiled.

At Adriano's house

They went to Adriano's bedroom. Adriano sat by his desk and Trisha sat on the bed with both their books open. Trisha was talking him through their homework while also doing hers. After a while, Adriano put his pen down and stood up from the desk.

Trisha: Are you done?
Adriano: Yeah. Do you want some snacks?
Trisha: Yes please.
Adriano: What do you want?
Trisha: Something sour.
Adriano: You got it Princess!

Adriano went to the kitchen while Trisha stayed in his room. A few minutes later, Adriano returned with some snacks.

Adriano's POV

I returned to my room with some snacks. I tossed her a lemon and she looked up at me as if I gave her something she doesn't like. I laughed at her confused expression, to which she rolled her eyes. I tossed her a packet of sour worms and her face lit up.

Trisha: Thanks Charming!
Adriano: You're welcome.

I bowed playfully and she laughed. I sat down beside her, putting her in between my legs. She leaned back on my chest and I pressed a kiss to her right temple. I've been wanting to do this for a while and I finally can! I will never ever EVER let her go.

That evening

Trisha's POV

After a great time with Adriano, I'm now in the comfort of my home eating dinner with my family. Or at least most of my family. Mom wasn't with us because she was at dinner with my friends. She's had a lot of dinners with friends lately...

Jake: So Trisha, how was your day today? Anything interesting?

Why yes Dad. I have a boyfriend named Adriano Richards who also happens to be the boy I'm tutoring and the boy you don't like.

Of course I can't say all that because Adriano would be dead and I would be in deep trouble.

Trisha: No, nothing interesting. Today has been pretty boring.
Jake: Okay. What about you Liv?
Olivia: Same here. Boring and normal.
Jake: That's new.

Dinner tonight was a bit awkward... None of us have anything to talk about. Where are the days when we would laugh and talk for hours until one of us got tired? If only we could go back to where we were before Mom became more distant from the family.

Trisha: Dinner was delicious and I'd love to sit here for longer but I'm pretty tired and I've got dance practice tomorrow so goodnight!

I hugged Dad and Liv before taking my plate to the kitchen and going to my room. I hate seeing my family this tense and awkward together. If only we could go back to the way we were.
