Chapter 9: Strict parents raise rebellious kids

The next morning

Trisha's POV

I woke up feeling tired. I remembered crying myself to sleep after eating a bunch of ice cream. I looked at my mirror to see the shattered glass still on the floor. I have to clean that up before I cute myself.

I checked my phone to see a bunch of messages. I then saw the date and remembered that today is my birthday! I got messages from Jess, Bekki, Tawana...and Adriano. All messages were sent at midnight. I immediately opened Adriano's. I hope my best friends will forgive me for this.

Trisha: "Good morning Princess! Happy 18th birthday! You're finally an adult, meaning you have access to all the alcohol and drugs. I'm kidding, I know you won't dare look at it. Since you're an adult, your life is yours. You can decide what you want to do. Don't let your parents smother your spark instead show them the fire. I love you and I'm so grateful to be able to send you this. Regarding us, we'll just fake a break up and move to a secret secret relationship if that's alright with you? Just know that I love you till the moon and back!"

He also sent a bunch of hearts and flowers. He's so sweet! I'm definitely in love with him. And the message. I replied with "Thank you so so much! I appreciate it. And I like your idea. I'll see you later. I love you!" and I also sent some hearts. I then read Tawana's message, and I don't know why but I was nervous.

Trisha: "Good morning Trisha! Happy birthday! I hope you have the best day ever because you're finally an adult like the rest of us. This is a new year for you and a new chapter of your life, so live it to the fullest. This is also the year to take risks so take as many as you want. I'm sorry about my behaviour yesterday, it wasn't right and you deserve happiness. But if Adriano hurts you I WILL kill him. I love you a lot and I hope we can continue being friends."

Tawna also sent a bunch of flowers and stars. His message was also sweet. I better hope Adriano doesn't see because he'll get super jealous. But then again, he's funny and cute when he's jealous. Anyway, I replied with "Thanks so much, I appreciate both the wishes and the apology. I love you too and I also hope our friendship stays as strong as it is now." I then opened Bekki and Jess' messages which said the same thing as Tawana's, minus the apology. I responded with "Thanks girls! I appreciate it. I love you so so much." I also added hearts.

Now that that's done I can find out what in the world smells so good! I jumped out of bed, neatened my hair and went to the kitchen. I didn't bother to change out of my pajamas nor put on any shoes because I'm super hungry since I didn't eat last night. Before I could get a glance at the kitchen, I was scared by a loud noise and confetti fell from the ceiling. My parents jumped out, scaring me even more.

Amy and Jake: Happy birthday Trisha!!

They hugged me tightly and I smiled. This was very sweet but they know I don't like loud, sudden noises!

Jake: I made pancakes.
Amy: And I made milkshakes.
Trisha: Yes!!

I did a happy dance, making my parents laugh.

Amy: See this as our apology.
Jake: Yeah, we didn't mean to make you so upset.

How'd they know?

Amy: I knew when I saw your broken mirror.
Jake: I'm scared to make you angry.

I laughed and they let me get my breakfast. They sat next to me by the kitchen counter and also ate, but Mom drank tea and Dad drank a milkshake too.

Trisha: I love these pancakes!
Jake: I'm glad you do.
Amy: You're going to love your gifts more.
Trisha: I didn't even want anything.
Jake: We can't not get you anything for your birthday.
Trisha: Well thanks.
Amy: What are your plans?
Trisha: Oh, I'm going out with Rebecca and Jessica this evening.
Jake: It's just them, right?
Trisha: Yes it's just them.
