Trisha's POV
6am
I had woken up to the sound of one of my favourite song, which was my alarm. I switched it off and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. I picked up my phone and checked for any notifications. There weren't any, thank goodness, so I stood up from my cosy bed and stretched before going into my bathroom.
After showering, I dried myself off and went back to my room to get dressed. I put on a pair of black jeans, a red t-shirt and my grey leather jacket with black sneakers.
I did my hair in an over-shoulder braid and put on a silver chain with a butterfly pendant.
I heard Mom call my name so I grabbed my backpack and went to the kitchen.
Mom: Morning Trisha!
Trisha: Morning Mom. Where's Liv?
Mom: She already left with Lisa.I heard a knock on the door and I knew that was Tawana. I took my lunch before heading to the door. I opened it and Tawana stood there with his usual smile on his face.
Amy: Good morning Tawana!
Tawana: Morning Mrs Roberts.I gave my mom a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving with Tawana.
Tawana: We're a few minutes late but there's still time to get breakfast before school.
Trisha: Good!I got in the passenger seat and Tawana sat behind the wheel. We went to Starbucks to get some breakfast. Tawana ordered his usual coffee and bagel and I ordered my hot chocolate and a chocolate chip muffin.
Tawana: Watch this.
He gestured for me to get a seat at a table while he gave the cashier our names. Tawana was about to do something stupid yet funny.
He sat down across from me with a mischievous grin.
Trisha: What did you do now?
Tawana: You'll see...Okay, now I'm kinda scared.
After a few minutes, a cute waiter brought us our orders. Tawana seemed disappointed and I knew it was because our orders weren't called out. He double checked our orders and I took out my card to pay.
Tawana: Trish, it's my turn to pay.
Trisha: Oh yeah. Sorry.
Tawana: You don't have to apologise for that, and don't say "sorry" again.I just nodded as I held back a laugh. Tawana gets annoyed when I apologise for little things. He paid for our stuff and just as we got up to leave, the waiter spoke to me.
Waiter: You're really pretty. Is it alright if I could get your number?
I froze for a second. I could either say yes and end up leading him on as well as get scolded by my parents, or I could say no and hurt his feelings. Either way, someone would get hurt.
Tawana: She doesn't date.
Waiter: Oh...alright. Enjoy your day!The waiter smiled before leaving and we went back to the car.
Trisha: Thanks for helping me.
Tawana: No problem. When you get into a situation like this again, do what you feel is right for yourself.I nodded and he smiled at me. He drove us to school.
At school
Tawana and I went out seperate ways to get our books from our lockers. I had just finished when I saw Adriano walk into the hall. I locked my locker and slung my backpack over my shoulder. Just as I started walking, someone pulled my bag and I ended up with my back to my locker. Just great, Adriano is here to annoy me again!
