It had been exactly one year since William Byers died.
For real this time.
Mike was beyond depressed. He never talked to anyone, went to school, ate, slept, he became numb to the world around him.
Mostly everyone in the party moved on. Max was out of her coma and was slowly returning to her old self. Of course Mike was happy for Lucas. But he couldn't help but feel jealous that Max had lived and Will didn't.
Eleven distanced herself from everyone as well. Her and Hopper now lived with the Byers in California due to him and Joyce now being in a relationship.
Life was terrible for Mike.
He decided a long time ago that he was going to finally be with Will again. Everyone would tell him, 'give it a year.' Or 'give it time!' Or 'I'm sure you'll get over it soon.'
The last one always made him laugh.
He gave it time. A year to be exact. He told himself that he would give it a year and that if things didn't get better then he was going to be with Will.
And thing's haven't gotten better.
While his parents were both at work and his siblings at school, Mike decided it was the perfect time to take his own life.
He didn't know exactly how he wanted to die. Of course he had thought about it a million times, but he didn't know how to do it.
Without thinking Mike made his way to the garage and grabbed his dads gun off the wall.
He grabbed a bullet from the shelf and loaded the gun quickly with shaky hands, not thinking about what he was doing.
He wasn't crying. He was excited. He would finally see Will again. He wasn't afraid to die anymore.
He raises the gun to himself, ready to pull the trigger.
"Mike, stop." A voice said. A familiar voice. Mike dropped the gun quickly, causing It to go off and hit the tire of his dads car.
"Shit." He mutters and looks around the room.
I must be going insane. He thought to himself as he picked the gun up again. He knew he would get in trouble if his dad found out it was him who flated his tire.
But it wouldn't matter if he was dead.
"Mike!" He heard a voice yell, causing him to drop the bullet he was trying to load into the gun.
He looks around the room again. Of course, no one was there.
"Hello?" He asks quietly, his eyes were wild with confusion. No one answers.
He picks up another bullet angrily and loads the gun quickly.
"Mike!" The voice calls.
Mike ignored it and held the gun up to his own throat.
"Mike please!" The voice cries, causing Mike to slowly put the gun down. He looks around the room, tears filling his eyes.
"Will?" His voice broke. No answer.
"Will, please!" He was crying harder now, not caring if it was only his imagination.
"Will I can't do this without you." He was crying harder now.
Without an answer he holds the gun to his throat again, ignoring the voices around him. The voice began shouting while Mike pulled the trigger.
