Over And Out

Chapter one

With the teens back in Hawkins India all together they were all an easy target for Vecna.  Especially since they were the ones he was hunting.

The group sat in the hospital room with Max who was in a coma.  Lucas, her boyfriend, well technically ex-boyfriend but also her boyfriend was sitting next to the bed, Dustin was sat next to him while El sat on the other side of the bed.  Will stood in the corner of the room while Mike stood next to El, his girlfriend.

So much has changed in the past two weeks it made Wills head spin. 

Currently it was only the six of them in the room.  Nancy, Mikes older sister, and Jonathan were downstairs at the cafe to get dinner. 

"What are we even supposed to do now?"  Dustin asks. 

Everyone was silent. 

"Staying together isn't smart."  Will says quietly and out loud.  "He knows where we are."

Because Will was taken by Vecna when he was younger, he was possessed, causing a part of Vecna to be attached to Will.  He knew things, saw things that Vecna could see, hear, and feel. 

"What should we do?"  Lucas asks. 

"The longer we wait, the more of the upside-down will bleed into our world."  Mike states the obvious, something he did often. 

"Well what are we supposed to do Mike?"  Dustin asks him.  "This isn't just a small Demogorgon we're talking about anymore.  This is bigger then just D&D.  This doesn't come with a fucking handbook we can just look at!"

"No shit!"  Mike yells back.

"Both of you shut up!"  El snaps.

"Sorry."  Both Boys mutter at the same time.

"We need to get everyone who lives in Hawkins out."  Will says.  "That's what we need to do first."

"That's going to be impossible.  What about all the old people that can't walk?  What about the people who have no where else to go?  What about people like Max who physically can not get up and leave!"  Lucas yells at him in frustration and fear.

"Don't yell at him like that."  Mike snaps at him.  Will looks to the ground to avoid eye contact with anyone, his heart started beating faster at the sight of Mike standing up for him, something that happened often.

"He's right."  El says while looking at Max.  "If anyone is here while we are fighting Vecna, they will die."

"So what should we do?"  Dustin asks.

"We could go to Hopper?"  El half asks the group.

"No one knows he's alive yet, he doesn't work at the police station anymore so that won't work."  Will says.  He wanted to take charge.  He wanted to come up with a plan, he wanted to fight, even if people didn't think he could.

"So what should we do Will?  You're turning down every idea, what do you think we should do."  El asks him annoyed. 

"We split up into groups."  Will says, leaning off the wall.  "We get Steve, Robin, Nancy, Argyle, Jonathan, my mom, Murray, and maybe Hopper to get everyone in Hawkins out.  I'm sure Lucas will want to stay with Max in case she wakes up, am I correct?"  Will asks him.  Lucas nods so Will continues with his rant.  "So Lucas will stay with Max as they leave Hawkins.  El and Mike can leave Hawkins so El can practice her powers more before Vecna actually does come for us, for her.  After everyone is out of Hawkins, Jonathan and Argyle will drive Mike and El to our house in California.  There, you guys can practice El's powers.  Then they can drive Dustin to Suzie's house and they can come up with a plan."  Will finishes.  Everyone seemed to be on board and Dustin picked up the phone on the wall and started dialing the number to the school to get ahold of Robin or Steve.

"Wait, what about you?"  Mike asks him.  Will hesitates.

"I'll stay here, in Hawkins.  I'll be able to update you guys and let you know what's going on."  He says quickly.  Mike shakes his head.

"No way in hell are you staying in Hawkins alone while Vecna is trying to kill us.  You and El probably most of all."  Mike demands to him.

"Then what do you suggest?"  Will asks him.  "Because I certainly can't think of anything else." 

Dustin slams the phone back on the wall.  "No answer."  He says and sits back down.

"Did they say they were coming here earlier?"  Lucas asks him.  Dustin nods.

"I'll stay here with you."  Mike says as Dustin and Lucas continue to discuss how to get ahold of everyone to get everyone else out of Hawkins.

"You can't.  El needs you."  Will gestures towards El who was looking back and forth at the two boys.

Mike sighs.  "Can one of you help me?"  Mike raises his voice. 

"What?"  Lucas and Dustin ask at the same time.  Mike sighs.

"I think Will needs to stay here."  El says slowly.

"You guys want to put him in danger for what?!"  Mike yells.

"Mike, no one if forcing me to do anything."  Will says to him.  "There's no other way this is going to work." 

"Why can't you're brother stay here with you?"  Mike asks, trying to find a way for it to work.

"He has to drive you guys to California and protect you guys."  Will replies.

"He'll be fine, Mike."  Lucas says confidently.

"I don't think Will can die."  Dustin tries to joke.  "With all the near death experiences he's had I'm surprised he hasn't."

Will grins, "I'll be careful, I'll update you guys everyday." 

"So when will we be come back?"  El asks.  Will thinks for a long minute.

"When I feel Vecna grow stronger and the upside-down has consumed Hawkins."  Will decides.  Everyone nods in agreement.  "When this happens I'll call my mom or someone and someone will come get me and bring me back to California where we'll all meet up before going back to Hawkins."

"So this is what we're doing?"  Dustin asks the group.

"Yep."  Will sighs, suddenly exhausted by putting others above himself once again.
