The group heard the monsters outside let out screeches and growls until it was completely silent.  The lights got brighter and that's when the group could tell that Vecna was dead.

Mike tries shakes Will awake but notices something that made his heart beat faster and the world start to spin.

"He's not breathing."  Mike says and turns to the group. "Why isn't he breathing?!"

Hopper and Joyce pushed past him and Nancy hugs Mike, something that didn't happen often.  Jonathan stood frozen in the corner with Argyle who was still high but knew what was going on.

"Get him on his back."  Hopper says as they roll him over.

After realizing what was going on, Eleven sprinted into the bedroom and pushed everyone out of the way.

Eleven does the same thing she did for Max, puts her hand over Will's heart, attempting to make it beat again.

But it doesn't work.

"He has to be dead."  Dustin says quietly.

"Vecna was a part of him."  Lucas adds while looking at Mike who was crying but at the same time looked emotionless.

He pulls away from Nancy, "I told you!"  He yells at the group, "I told you this was a stupid plan and we should have thought of something else!  But no!  You all insisted on Will killing Vecna and now he's dead!"  Mike shoves past the group and runs outside.

He sat down on the porch and began crying harder.  He rarely even cried.  Ever.  But in that moment all he could do was cry.

Inside, the group still didn't know what to do.  Joyce had completely broken down and Jonathan hugged her.  Hopper hugged Eleven while Dustin and Lucas stared at Will's dead body, both their hearts were racing and both of them were now crying.

Nancy cared of course, she was crying.

Robin and Steve looked confused but sad.  They didn't know Will that well, but they knew everything he went through since the upside-down.  Causing them to feel even more bad.

Outside Mike felt like his world just shattered.  He couldn't live without Will.  He simply didn't know how too.

He sat on the steps in the cold for a long time.  He heard talking inside but he couldn't be bothered with it.  He stared at the ground with more tears falling out of his eyes.

"Damnit Byers you promised."  He mutters to himself.
