"You're seriously humiliating me." I scooted my chair closer to Somi, whispering rather harshly in her ear.

"I know." a stupid smug smile took over her face.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes, scooting away from her.

Hyunjin rested his arms on the table and stared at the both of us, smiling contentedly.

"Somi was supposed to pay." I side-eyed her, speaking to Hyunjin even though it didn't seem like it.

"Well, it's not my fault I have a well-paying job and my college tuition is completely paid off." she averted her eyes away from me and the corner of her mouth quirked up.

She's truly the biggest menace to society, and I just so happen to be friends with that menace.

"Alright, things are getting heated..." Hyunjin licked his lips, glancing at the table before bringing another subject upon us. "Somi. What is this well-paying job of yours?" he smiled, seeming to be genuinely invested in her.

I couldn't help but feel bitter jealousy that he never asked me questions like that. Is there nothing interesting about me?

Somi tossed her silky, perfect, blonde hair behind her neck to reveal her bare shoulders.

I'm praying to dear God that wasn't on purpose.

"I'm a nail technician at the Serenity Nail Salon. I'm hoping to open my own shop one day." she giggled in the most annoying way possible. I've hated Somi before but this is probably the most I've ever hated her.

I didn't notice the cruel look on my face before Hyunjin directed his attention towards me.

"Yejun? You alright?" he tilted his head to the side.

"Me? Yeah. I'm fine. I'm chilling. I am better than ever." I ranted, leaning back in my chair and taking a deep breath.

Me? I'm horrible. I'm dying here and this is the worst I've ever felt.

"Every time I mention my career she can't help but get jealous..." Somi sighed, lifting her purse to adjust her skirt, then gently placed it back down.

"Oh, please. I'm still in college but I work as a bartender. I can't really get a job anywhere else yet. Just be patient." I grimaced, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Hyunjin let out a small laugh, covering his mouth with his hand.

"It's not funny. You're a bartender too." I gave him a look. I was not in my best mood right now, and I'm not sure what will fix it.

"I know I am. But, I'm also a restaurant waiter. Surprise." he smiled, gesturing jazz hands before putting them in his pocket.

If this man smiles one more time, I might blow up.

"What's your major?" I asked him, leaning forward out of curiosity. I didn't know much about him.

"Art and dance. It gets hard sometimes to juggle both, but I manage. I consider myself a bit more on the creative side. I love all things from music itself, to painting, to sketching, all that jazz." he counted on his fingers.
