Shootout - Izzamuzzic, Julien Marchal

I sat myself onto the pier, dangling my bare legs over the edge and dipping my toes into the cool water.

Someone walked up behind me and gently tapped my shoulder.

"Yejun?' a familiar voice spoke.

I turned around to see who it was, and Yunjin stood before me.

"Why are you here?" I asked mildly.

"I came to check on you."

"What's the point?" I sighed, swinging my feet around in the water. I feel some sort of satisfaction while hearing the splashing.

"Okay, don't go all emo on me." she laughed, and I cracked a smile. She sat down next to me and crossed her legs instead of wetting her feet with me.

"Sorry." I managed to breathe out a small laugh.

"You know, you're the life of the party." she turned to me, smiling compassionately. "Without you, this trip would be really boring."

"You're a bad liar." I turned away from her, not seeing a point in our conversation.

"I'm not lying at all." she persuaded, but I wouldn't buy it. "Like when you tackled Somi on the way here, that was really funny." she laughed in between her words while we both reminisced on it like it was a year ago.

"You've been really nice to me even though we don't know each other well. Why?" I finally looked at her, a quizzical look on my face.

"Well," she cleared her throat. "I know it may seem like I'm very extroverted based on my appearance, but I'm actually quite the opposite. I don't know if you've realized yet."

"Hm, I guess that's true." I thought out loud.

"We met each other at Hanyakbang, but I've never met anyone else here. It's hard for me to get to know people I've never met before." she admitted truthfully.

I read somewhere that people tend to be more honest at night. I never believed it until now.

The space we were in gave us a lot of privacy even though we were in an open area. I felt really at ease.

"And you seem like a really unique person, Yejun." she tilted her head, leaning back on her arms. "The world needs more people like you."

"Please." I scoffed. "That is definitely not true."

"Believe me, it's true. You just can't see it for yourself yet." she argued back.

"Whatever, I'll take your word for it I guess. 'Oh Wise One." I teased, earning a laugh from her.

"Come on. Let's get back. The others are wondering where you went." she stood up, dusting off her black denim shorts.

"Yeah." I agreed with a smile. She extended a hand towards me and I gladly took it, letting her pull me up from the ground.
