Heavy Heart - RIO

"Whatever. It's not that big of a deal." I shook my head and shoved past him to walk to the car.

He followed straight after me, quickening his pace.

His hand fell on my shoulder and stopped me in my tracks.

"Yejun, I'm sorry. Don't be upset with me for the rest of the day." he frowned.

"I'm not upset with you." I groaned, subconscious to my harsh tone.

He let out a big exhale and silently followed me to the car.

I was so distracted that I didn't even notice the goosebumps forming on my bare arms. I should've known to wear something warmer.

This cardigan's fabric isn't even thick enough to insulate my body.

Hyunjin fastened his seatbelt and took a quick glance at me.

His eyes ran down to my arms, lingering there before taking off his hoodie.

I watched him in confusion, but also astonishment as I saw the hem of his shirt slide up and reveal the tiniest bit of his toned abs.

Before I was about to get lost in a daze, he handed the hoodie to me.

"Take it. It's cold." he shoved it against my chest.

"No, I couldn't—" I started but he interrupted me with a sharp breath.

"Don't argue with me. You're cold, I can see the goosebumps on your arms. Take. It." his tone gradually getting harsher.

I would've argued, but he was right. I'm freezing.

I slid the hoodie over my head, immediately being welcomed by his comforting scent. It smelled like the black night, in a way. It's hard for me to put it in words, but I liked it.

It was expectedly big on me. The sleeves embodied my palms, and it almost fit me like a dress.

I cleared my throat awkwardly and started the engine, pulling out of the parking space.

Silence engulfed us once again, as it always did when we were in the same car.

As the sun disappeared behind the horizon and all source of daylight had vanished, rain clouds climbed over our heads.

Sprinkles of rain quickly turned into torrents, and I clicked the windshield wiper on.

Hyunjin looked stiff as a board next to me.

"Are you okay?" my voice coming out a little raspy after not talking for awhile.

"Yeah, I'm fine." he spoke quietly, but I saw him swallow hard.

Is he scared of the rain?

A bolt of lightning flashed within the clouds above us, which caused Hyunjin to squirm in his seat. He avoided looking out the window and stared in his lap.
