Bambi - BAEKHYUN
Hyunjin agreed to go to Somi's villa and hang out with the rest of the group to celebrate our first night.
The walk there was the most awkward stroll we had ever taken together.
The sunlight had completely disappeared behind the horizon, therefore the only source of illumination available to us was the innumerable stars in the sky.
In Jeju, it's a lot easier to see the stars and there's bigger numbers of them than in Seoul.
There were a few crickets awake at this hour, but enough to create an annoying chirping sound to slice through the dead silence like they have no other business.
The tide had calmed, leaving nothing but the sound of the tranquil waters rolling up unto the sandy shoreline.
Hyunjin and I walked in no hurry, breathing in the salty air and notably avoiding eye contact with each other.
But, he was the first the break the silence.
"Did it really not mean anything to you?" he asked quietly, which I comprehended out of context.
"Did what not mean anything to me?" I echoed his question.
"When we kissed." he replied mildly.
I nearly stopped in my tracks but once again pulled the 'old Yejun' and attempted to maintain my composure.
The aged wooden planks of the pier creaked under every step the both of us took, which made things a little more uncomfortable.
I had just realized how easy it is to be more aware every little detail of your surroundings when you're more conscious of your actions, possibly due to nerves.
"I...don't know." were the only words that I could manage to get out my mouth.
"It had to." he inhaled deeply. "It had to have meant something. I know that I seemed careless of it earlier, but in reality, I..." he opened his mouth once as if he were about to speak, but thought about his choice of words carefully before continuing.
"I take a liking...in you...and I would hate for that to go to waste." he spoke softly and slowly.
His words caught me the tiniest bit off guard, but to be totally honest I wasn't all that shocked. I was able to process each and every of his words carefully.
And after the little time I had to think, I had come to a conclusion.
It did actually mean something to me.
All this time, I never really actually denied that I liked him. He's attractive, his actions are equally as charming as his physical appearance, and his dialect especially. His choice of words, the eloquence in his sentences is like music to my ears.
