Measure - Open Ocean

The way he stared at me made me strangely uncomfortable. Or...nervous? I couldn't tell what the word was at the moment.

"Hold up, Seungmin. I'll be right back." I turned my head around to face him while speaking. Once I received a silent nod of confirmation from him, I gently placed my glass on the counter and hopped off my seat, sauntering towards Hyunjin.

"Hyunjin, what is up with you?" I folded my arms over my chest, watching as he simply cocked a brow.

"Do you like him?" he suddenly asked.

"What the—like who?" I grimaced.

"Him. The bartender." Hyunjin pointed behind me at Seungmin who was busy behind the counter, and I rotated myself to look in the same direction.

"Are you insane?" my eyes widened in disbelief when I looked back at Hyunjin.

"I don't know, maybe you are." he lifted himself off the pillar, his arms flying up.

"What has been up with you lately? You've been difficult to talk to." I furrowed my brows, turning away from him.

"Nothing is up with me. You're the one that's off." he defended.

"Wow. The audacity of you to say that." I scoffed, looking back at him.

"Look, Hyunjin. I don't have the time or care to argue with you. Can we enjoy this trip? Please?" I asked him politely. Although, I was feeling a mixture of frustration and sorrow all at once. It didn't feel nice.

"Fine, then. But don't be so...friendly with that guy." he reminded.

"Oh? So, now I'm not allowed to be nice to a guy because you're jealous? We're not dating, Hyunjin. And you don't have a say in what I do." I ended our skirmish there and stormed off, back to the counter.

The anger was evident on my face, even when I tried my best to hide it.

"Woah, someone looks mad." Seungmin laughed mid-sentence, looking slightly intimidated.

"Was it obvious?" I released a sigh, my tone changing once I spoke to him.

"Yes, really obvious." he laughed. "I won't ask, though."

"Thank you." I sighed, taking another sip from my drink which I left on the table. Drops of water were already starting to collect on the outside of the glass.

I was watching the ocean from the deck, when Han approached me.

"Are you enjoying the trip so far?" he asked, laying his arms over the railing and admiring the view with me.

"Hm, yeah. But there's still so much we haven't seen." I shrugged, backing away from the open space and into the shade.
