Katara's POV
"I feel like the fish is taunting me," Sokka says. He then gets ups and exclaims. "You know what? I'm gonna make it out for dinner. Here fishy, fishy! Come out of the water so I can catch you."
I laugh at the scene in front of me. "You won't be laughing when I catch dinner! Hey! Where is the fishing line!"
"Oops, sorry Sokka! I used to make a necklace for Katara!" While saying that he holds up said necklace in his hands.
"Thank you, Aang! I'm flattered but why did you make it?" I ask.
"Well since you lost your necklace, I thought I would make you a new one. I know it's nothing like your mother's necklace but..."
"I love it Aang, thank you!" He hands me the necklace and I put it on.
"It looks amazing on you!" Aang compliments me.
"Thank you," I respond. "That was very sweet of you."
"It does look amazing on you Katara," Sokka adds. "Oh, and I also caught the fish!"
"Wow, I'm surprised," I say
"I told you I would!"
"Look over there! Someone is getting attacked by a Platypus-Bear!" Aang exclaims urgently. We run over to where he was pointing and sure enough there was a man being attacked by a platypus bear.
"Well, hello there"! He says while he dodges a swing of the bear's claws. "Nice day, isn't it?"
"Make noise! He'll run off!" Aang suggests.
"No, play dead! He'll lose interest!" Sokka says.
The bear swings his claws attempting to strike the man once again but thankfully misses. "Whoa close one!" The man laughs.
This man is crazy. I cup one of my hands to my mouth and make gestures with the other while saying, " Run downhill, then climb a tree!"
"No, punch him in the bill!" Sokka counters while demonstrating by swinging his fist upward.
"Then run in zig-zags." Aang adds.
"No need, it's going to be fine!" The calm man says. The platypus bear attempts to land yet another blow but the calm man dodges the attack. The platypus bear instead cuts a large chunk of wood from the trunk of a nearby tree.
Aang places himself between the calm man and the platypus bear to whom he directs a powerful blast of air at. He assumes a fight stance and says "Whoa there!" This only angers the bear who stands up on his rear legs and lets out a loud growl. However Appa shows up behind the bear and bellows which scares the animal so much, it lays an egg on the spot and escapes down the nearby river.
Sokka picks up the egg and says, "Mmm, lunch!" He sniffs it, "Lucky for you, we came along."
"Thanks, but everything was already under control. Not to worry. Aunt Wu predicted I'd have a safe journey." He says and proceeds to fold his hands together and bow slightly.
"Aunt who?" Aang asks
"Not 'who', Wu. She's the fortune teller from my village. Awful nice knowing your future." He exclaims.
"Wow, it must be. That explains why you were so calm!" I exclaim in return.
"But the fortuneteller was wrong! You didn't have a safe journey; you were almost killed!" Sokka coutners.
"But I wasn't! All right, have a good one!" He says and turns to leaves. He takes a few steps and turns around again, as if he forgot something. "Oh, and Aunt Wu said if I met any travelers to give them this."
