Chapter 16. Betrayal hurts but being Forced is Worse

While Heart was getting ready to go meet her friend Lilly in the forest. On the other side of Aleby, in the city of Yodan, a girl was walking down town humming to herself. The girl had blue hair with some brown stripes in some places. Her style of clothing was gothic themed. A black cape, pants and hat, alongside a white long shirt. Her eyes had a yellow bluish color and wore a choker with a cross on.

The girl was smiling when she came up to a small house and started to knock. "Lilly~ I'm here to ask if you wanna get a bite at the cafe?" the girl asked but nobody answered the door. She tried again to knock on the door. Again no answers, this made the girl question if something was wrong, Lilly was normally always at home, and she always answers the door the girl thought and tried to open the door. Luckily for her the door was unlocked so she let herself in. "Lilly it's me Sif? Your great buddy you know?" The girl, Sif, was walking around the house trying to look for her friend Lilly, but to no luck. This was starting to annoy her, so she started sniffing around the house trying to find her scent, but the smell was old, so she must have left a while ago.

Sif out of curiosity decided to follow the scent and see where Lilly might have gone off to. Sif soon noticed that she was coming closer and closer to the forest. This doesn't look like Lilly walking alone in the forest by herself. Sif thought to herself and went into the forest. Following a scent inside a forest is a little harder than being in the city since there are so many other smells going on. But Lillys scent was still strong which means she is close by. Sif kept going for a while until she heard voices, which made her stop. She went closer to the voices and she started to hear them clearer. One of them was Lillys while the other was unfamiliar to her. She hid behind a tree near the two girls and took a quick glance at them before quickly hiding again.

No doubt the first girl was Lilly, Sif would never forget her. Lilly had blonde hair which was tied up in a ponytail with a hair tie shaped like a lily flower. She wears a brown cardigan and a white shirt and skirt. What really stood out about Lilly is her bandages and her eyepatch, which after what she told she got from her parents. Which always made Sif feel her blood boil every time thinking about it.

She took a quick glance again to get a better look on the other girl. The girl looked familiar to someone she knew, but still looked different, but she could not put her finger on what it was.

"So Heart, how are things back in Surora?" Lilly asked the girl, she now knows the name is Heart, which again triggers her memories a little. The girl looks at her with a calm smile "It's going well, we just sended our spies to Groydon to get more information" she replied. Spies? Information? What are they talking about? Why is Lilly talking with this random person? So many thoughts ran in Sifs head every second. Lilly nodded "That's good to hear, hope you guys soon come up with a solution to end this madness..." Lilly started looking down, rubbing her arm before continuing "things here in Yodan are going calm as well, Firenight is still thinking about a plan to create chaos to the world and my team are just following behind...". She finished looking up at Hearts' eyes. Heart could feel her being uncomfortable and gave her a hug, while saying things Sif could not hear. Suddenly everything clicked in her head, Lilly was not just talking with a stranger, she was talking with a member of the Hikari team. But, why would Lilly betray them and give them information about them... Wasn't she a part of their team...? Sif stood for a moment before running back towards the town, she had some words to discuss with her last team member, Annabelle, who would not be happy to hear this.

Lilly and Heart kept talking about what was going on between the two teams, for a little while until they both thought it was time to go before someone might become suspicious about their whereabouts. Heart helped Lilly up since she noticed Lilly had trouble with walking when they met up. Heart had heard that the team she works with can be a bit rough, especially the one named Annabelle which she supposed was their leader. This meant that her other teammate named Sif wasn't innocent either. Lilly had told that she is more bloodthirsty than the other. But both are known to be sadistic after what the reports have shown. Though the two last members are less known than them, even Lilly is sometimes too scared to mention them.

When Lilly got up they gave each other a hug, when they parted, Heart took both of Lilly's hands and gave her a worried look "please be careful Lilly, seeing you getting hurt more and more is also hurting me... Why don't you just come with us?" she said, giving her hands a little squish. Lilly looked up at Heart and gave her a small smile before giving her a hug again. "I would love to, but I can't. Someone has to bring information back to you, right? Or else we would never end this meaningless war" She replied, breaking the hug and took a few steps back. They said their final goodbyes before going their separate ways.

When Lilly came back to her house something seemed off, but she shook the feeling off walking inside. When she walked in she noticed the light in the living room was on, so she probably assumed Sif might be visiting, so she took a deep breath before walking in. but what she saw made her eyes widen, "my my welcome back Lilly, we've never thought you would come back" said a cheerful voice. Though Lilly knew deep inside that cheerful facade, there was something more venomous behind it. Lilly stood at the entrance to the living room, too scared to even dare to get any closer. In front of her were her two teammates sitting on her couch. "Oh, Annabelle and Sif, what a surprise to see you two here, I just came back from a little walk, now that the sakura flowers are starting to blossom" she said with the same cheerfulness as Annabelle used towards her. Sif looked down a little knowing that was a big lie straight at them. While Annabelle only smiled. Annabelle had long white hair tied into a ponytail with a cross hairpint and turquoise eyes. She wore a black hoodie with white crosses at the end of the sleeves and a white skirt. She got up from the couch and walked towards a wall with some pictures hanging there. "They are truly beautiful to look at, at this type of the year. But I have to ask..." she stopped herself, turning around with a more serious look on her face. "I never saw sakura trees deep in the forest though..." she finished now moving closer to Lilly, her expression turning into a smirk "I heard that you met up with someone~" she said again which made Lilly's blood go cold, how did she? she looked behind Annabelle towards the other girl in the room. Sif still looked away from them both.

Don't tell me... Sif whispered something which she didn't understand, so she tried to see if she had something on her mind by using her ability, Telepathy. Sif must've noticed because of what she heard 'I'm so-'. She was stopped in track when Annabelle stepped up in front of her with that same smirk, but her eyes said so much more.

"I suppose you got something to share with us Lilly~".
