It was early in the morning, just silence and the sound of birds singing along with the calm breeze. Suddenly a knock on the door could be heard and Moonlight opened her eyes. After a few seconds, her eyes widened and she sat up faster than she could realize where she was. She looked around the room and finally remembered that she was in Fel Serin, the elf city. She took a deep sigh and went out of bed. She walked to the door, and opened it revealing a happy-looking elf girl, Yalanna. "Good morning Moonlight I hope you slept well!" Moon, who was still a little tired nodded and gave a smile back. "I slept very well thank you Yalanna, this place can really give a calm feeling," Moon replied. Yalanna gave a small giggle and pointed to something behind Moon. She turned around and looked at a small flying dreamcatcher. Aren't dreamcatchers just to prevent any nightmares from taking over? Moon thought and looked back at Yalanna "You see with our magic we can add a small adjustment to objects, what you see there is a brilliant example. These dreamcatchers don't only stop nightmares they also prevent negative energy so it's easier to fall asleep at night! Cool isn't it!? I came up with the idea myself" she said with a slight pride in her voice and her eyes showed two pairs of stars. Must mean she's pretty happy Moon thought and smiled and nodded to agree about the idea since it really had helped her sleep easily despite all her worries about the mission that is going into action today.
Suddenly they two went quiet and Moon didn't want it to turn way too awkward "So... What may I help you with?" she asked and suddenly her eyes changed again looking at Moon with a smile. "Oh yeah, I came here because I wanted to hear if you wanted to have a cup of something and a little chat before the others were gonna wake up and eat with us," she said and looked hopefully at her. Moon looked surprised at her questioning why she wanted to talk with her of all people. But she shrugged it off and nodded.
After she had changed her clothes she went to the living room where Yalanna was sitting playing around with some kind of herbs and berries. She noticed Moon and waved her over. Moon walked up to her and took a seat beside her watching what she was doing. Yalanna looked very focused on her work and after a few minutes, she finished her work which looked like two drinks.
"Tadaaaah two cups of Yalannas super-secret berry juice!!" She gave Moon one of the cups and looked excited at her. Moon giggled, her expression kinda reminded her of a child watching something very interesting. Moon looked at the drink which was a unique color it was a twirl between blue and red. Moon looked interested Shouldn't they have blended into purple? That was indeed a surprise drink. She moved the drink to her lips and took a sip.
There was a long silence until Moon suddenly looked at Yalanna with an exciting look. "Wooow that tastes amazing Yalanna! You must show me how you made this!" Moon commented with an amazed tone. Yalanna looked surprised at her before laughing. "You really like it? It's the first time I ever let someone try my drinks. But it really means a lot that you like it" Yalanna started and took a sip of her own, she looked at the liquid before continuing "You see, I always loved experimenting with different berries and herbs and making drinks, and maybe one day I could make a small cafe somewhere... Though it might be harder than it looks since I am the leader and have my role to play." she finished with a small smile still looking at her drink.
Moon was taken back at what Yalanna just said. She did feel her situation must be hard to have dreams that may never be able to come true, kinda reminded her about her own dream to be able to use her own ability as well. "You know, I do kinda relate, but a dream can never die out, and it's not impossible to achieve" Moon started and took both of Yalanna's hands in hers and gave them a gentle squish "I'm sure one day you'll be able to start your own cafe, and when that happens I would love to give my full support to you!"
Yalanna was the one to be taken back this time, she looked shocked at Moon after her statement. Small tears did appear in her eyes "You really mean that? You believe that I might have a chance to complete my dream?" she said. Moon nodded her head and Yalanna gave her a hug in return "Thank you, I knew you would understand, and I do hope you also achieve your dream as well one day Moon" she said and let go of her.
Moon smiled and looked down. I really hope it will, I don't want to live my life in fear anymore Moon thought and nodded her head. Hours went and the two kept talking. If the conversation was close enough to end, then there were no worries since one of them always had some kind of topic to talk about. Moon talked about how it was to start on the team and she was welcomed with becoming a target for Amon and Scootalis for their pranks. Where Yalanna thought it was adorable since she had only met the two juniors once, where they didn't seem that bad. But she believed what Moon said. Yalanna on the other hand talked about how it was to rule over Fel Serin and how their magic worked.
Moon found out elf magic was a little more complicated to work with since it had more to it than just one thing. Yalanna would have loved to show her books about it, but sadly Moon wouldn't have been able to understand it since it was all written in Quenya, a language the elf used to hide their information from others. Which was understandable but still a little disappointing in Moon's mind since she would have loved to learn more about the elves. Maybe one day Yalanna could show her how their language worked and one day she'll get to learn about them.
