Chapter 13. Seeking For Answers Part 1

It's been a few days since Lis's nightmare, and Heart has been looking for the right time to take some time off, so she could take a trip to the place her younger sister mentioned being in, the city they both were born in, Aleby. The only thing that kept questioning her, was the fact that Lis saw their mother with wings? Maybe it was a sign that their mother is always there to protect them in their dreams. Though Heart never encountered her mother in one of her dreams yet. So she was sure she had to go to Aleby to talk to the leader that had known her mother the longest. She also knew who she would bring along with her. Her good friend Midnight.

Midnight had been going around, doing small research on the different cities, going to the library to read their background, alongside a topic both Midnight and her family have been interested in, mythical creatures. Her Mother, Demeter had been studying about dragons for years, to get a better understanding about them. This little hobby had also interested her daughter, Midnight, to do her own research. She has her own notebooks with knowledge about all the mythical creatures in the different cities.

So far she had most information about Surura with their elves, Ideley with Kitsune and Mison with their dragons, her next stop would be Aleby with the rumors about having angels. Perhaps soon that goal would come, where she could take a trip there. It's only about time... Perhaps that time was gonna come sooner than she had thought.

She was sitting in her room reading, when suddenly a knock on her door interrupted her. She went over and opened the door to see Heart with a bright smile. Midnight gave a smile in return "Heart, do you need help with anything? "she asked and invited Heart into her room, heart accepted and walked in "You could say that, it's more a question I would like to ask you" she responded, this made Midnight more interested, she gave a nod towards her friend to go on with the question. Heart walked up to Midnight's desk and noticed she had been studying again "I know you like studying about mythical creatures, correct?" She asks which again Midnight gives a nod "What can I say it runs in my blood" said with a small chuckle at the end. Heart gave a nod and continued "And as I can see here you reading about Aleby's?" She said looking through some of the pages, Midnight had written down. Midnight went up to her and pointed at a sentence in a book. "That is indeed true, I mean look at this, like Kitsune with 13 types of element, there are also different types of angels, though there is no further information to what these different types are." Midnight said and closed the book and put it back into the shelf where all her other books about mythical creatures could be found, alongside dozens of her own research. Heart walked up to her still with a sweet smile on her face "what if I could get you to go with me on a little trip to Aleby, I need some information for myself". Not another second waited and like a flash of light, Midnight had already found her backpack and was smiling like a firework on the new year. "When are we going?" she asked very excitedly, which made Heart laugh. "I suppose we could go right away I do have my own thing packed so whenever you are rea-" She didn't get to finish her sentence before Midnight took her hand, grabbed Heart's things, said their goodbyes to Nano, and stormed out of the house and on their way towards Heart's childhood home, Aleby.

On their way towards Aleby, Midnight informed Heart about all the knowledge she could mention about all the different kinds of mythical creatures around the world. When she came to Aleby, Heart was more interested in her hometowns mythical, since she never knew it. "Angels, people say there lives more than one type of angel in Aleby, each having their own role" Midnight said, which responded with an interesting look "more than one you say? I wonder if I ever met one when I was younger" Heart responded.

They kept talking for a while until they were close to the gate of Aleby. But before they could get any closer an arrow was shot near both leaders feets which startled them both. They looked at the direction the arrow was shot from, and noticed someone in the tree. They were wearing a mask, and their clothing was mostly blue with some white fur. The person was having their hood up, so she was completely covered. She was holding a bow aimed at the two confused girls on the ground.

"State your names and purpose," said the person. They sounded like a female so they both assumed they may be a girl as well. Heart took a step forward, not taking her eyes off the other. "Me and my friend here are both leaders of a small group back in Surora" Heart said and saw the other nodding indicating to continue. "My name is Scootalight Heart, and this is Midnight Eclipse and it was my idea to come here, since I need to talk to the leader Rose Lovegarden, since she knew my mother Celeste Heart" Heart finished. The girl went quiet for a moment studying both of the leaders. She mumbled something before taking her bow away and jumping down the tree. She ran up to Heart and gave her a hug, which confused both Heart and Midnight. Before any of them could say anything, the girl stepped away "I can't believe it's you, Heart! It's been so long!" the girl said in an excited voice, Heart moved her head a little to the side still being confused about what the girl was talking about.

The girl took both her hood and mask off showing her face better. She had blue hair with a single white stripe in the front. She also had blue eyes and something Heart immediately remembered, the girl had blue stripes on her cheeks. Heart gave a big smile in return when she finally could identify the girl. "Wait, Jasmine is that really you! It's been ages!" Jasmine nodded with a happy smile still on her face. Midnight, who still looked confused as to what was going on, both laughed at her confused face until Heart spoke up "Midnight, this girl here is my childhood friend, this is Jasmine Lovegarden" she said and Jasmine went up and shook Midnight's hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm also known as one of the leaders of Aleby, alongside my mother". Heart gave a surprised look "You became a leader alongside your mother?" She asked which Jasmine nodded and gave a signal to follow her, where Midnight and Heart followed right behind. Jasmine explained she became a leader a year ago, where she works along with her mother, where her mother works in the city and helps people, while Jasmine is more outside and looks out if anything was to happen.
