We take a moment to catch our breaths before she moves off my lap. She pulls her shorts back on as I do the same. I grip the back of her neck and place my lips on hers once more. "That was the best run I have ever done," I smile at her.
She smirks and crawls into the front seat. I get out and jump in the driver's seat as she passes me the keys. I start the engine, turning the music up as I back out of the parking spot. She lays her head against the window as the AC blasts in the car, cooling us off from our little adventure in the backseat. We speed down the street, heading back to the house, as she hums along with the music. I glance over at her and catch her smiling in the corner of my eye. I smile back and put my foot down on the gas, the engine roaring as we make our way home.
I pull up to the house and park in the garage. She steps out and heads inside. I take a moment to myself, my hands still on the steering wheel. There is something different about her. When she is around, my heart flutters. I've been with tons of girls, and not once have I ever felt what I'm feeling when she is around. She exudes a kind of peacefulness that I have never experienced with anyone else, and it makes me feel like nothing else matters. I am drawn to her, not just because of the way she looks, but because of the way she makes me feel. Even though I've only known her for a short while, it feels like she's the only one who can make me truly happy.
I step out of the car and head inside. Closing the garage door behind me, I head to my room to shower. The hot water flows over my body and relaxes my muscles. For a moment, I let myself just think of her. Her beautiful eyes, her captivating smile, and her graceful movements still linger in my mind as I step out of the shower. I get dressed and head to the kitchen and see Rosie making coffee,
"Sorry, I need another one." She says.
"Can you make me one?" I ask.
She smiles and pours me a cup. We head to the living room and take a seat. The rich aroma of coffee fills the air and we sip our drinks in comfortable silence.
"So," She starts, "I know your body, very well I must say but I feel like I don't know the real Jasper. The one before all this." She waves her hands in the air.
I put my cup down and look at her, "Well, I grew up in the system, basically raised by the streets. Where I come from the girls did what they needed to survive and the boys all had guns."
"Including you?" She looks at me, curiosity taking over.
I nod. "David is my foster brother, and one day we watched one of our friends take a bullet to the chest," I look down, "That day we promised ourselves we weren't going to lose to the streets. I started focusing in school then met Alexandra, a one night stand and nine months later, I had twins and their mother dead." I look at her, her eyes show love as I continue to speak, "Athena and Mark helped me finish school and David joined the Infantry. I made sure that my boys would never have to live the way I did."
"Well, you've done an amazing job with those boys and have done very well with yourself." She smiles.
"What about you?" I ask her.
"Not much, you already know about my ex. I grew up in a small town in British Columbia. It's so beautiful there, the beaches, the small shops, it just felt cozy." She looks away, "I've been through it all, battered and bruised. That morning when I woke up, I knew this wasn't the way for me to live my life, I was going through hell and I couldn't stay." She wipes the tear that runs down her cheek. "I changed, I was such a goofy person, always ready to have some fun, I was free spirited and he broke that. Took a while for me to come back." She looks at me. "I miss my mom, there's never a day that goes by that I just want to run into her arms."
"Come here," I lay back on the couch and she lays her head onto my chest.
I kiss the crown of her head and rub her back. "I promise you'll see your mom again." I hold her tighter.
I just hold her and I feel her heart beating against my chest. It's a feeling of security, knowing that I can protect her from the harsh realities of the world. I know that I am capable of keeping her safe from all the pain, suffering, and injustice of life. She looks up at me as my hands run through her hair. Her eyes sparkle with admiration and I feel the weight of responsibility that comes with the power to be her hero. In this moment I realize something I never thought I would ever have, I love her. I love her with an intensity and depth I never knew existed within me. I lay in awe at the realization that my heart can swell to such a magnitude, just from looking into her eyes.
She moves up my body and crosses her arms across my chest, resting her chin on them, smiling. I can't contain myself and move closer to kiss her. Our lips touch, and I'm instantly overwhelmed with feelings of warmth, love, and an intense passion that can't be described in words. Sparks of electricity fly through my veins as we kiss, and I'm sure she feels them too. The kiss is over too soon, and I find myself wanting to stay here forever with her in my arms. My mouth has no control, and I blurt out, "I think I'm falling for you."
Her gaze is fixed on mine, and I expect her to stand up and walk away. But instead, her lips press against mine once again, and she pulls away.
"Did you hear what I said?" I question her.
"I did, but I meant what I said the other day, no strings attached."
I take a moment to take in what she just said. Is she giving me an ultimatum? She starts to get up, and I pull her back onto my lap. I cup her face, "No strings attached." She smiles and my lips press against her. My hands on her lower back as her legs wrap around my waist, my mouth moves to her neck. I feel her breath quicken and her hands pull me closer as I run my fingers through her hair. Her body pressing against mine, the outside world fading away, our movements and emotions intensifying as we become one. My hand runs up her thighs and slowly make my way to the button on her shorts, taking them off. I start to make love to her, my body moving in harmony with hers. Her skin is like silk as I kiss her neck and shoulders. I move inside her, each thrust more passionate and sensual than the last. I feel her body quiver, and my own, as I become overwhelmed with pleasure. Together, we reach an incredible climax, her moans of pleasure echoing in my ears sending me into a blissful state.
She lays her body next to me, and I pull the blanket that's on the back of the couch over us. My phone rings and she passes it to me as she is closer to the table,
"Yo," I say as I answer.
"We have landed and the boys are with Athena and Mark. I'm just waiting to fuel up and then I will be heading back shortly." David tells me.
"Okay, cool," I look at Rosie as she asks for the phone, "Hold on, someone wants to talk to you." I hand her the phone.
"Hey, it's Rosie. Quick question. Do you like clubbing?" She asks him. A smile grows on her face, "Okay, great! Here's Jasper." She hands the phone back to me.
"Alright, see you later. Thanks again David." I tell him and hang up.
I look at Rosie who is getting herself comfortable against me. I lean into her ear, "Clubbing?"
She turns to face me, "Yes, Natty and I want to go dancing so I ask David if he wanted to tag along."
"Oh, okay," I hold back my laughter.
"You're coming too," She smiles.
"Hell no. That's not for me."
She looks at me and she pouts, a look I can't say no to. "Fine," I sigh. She kisses me and says "thank you." She lays her head into my chest and closes her eyes. She falls asleep as I watch baseball but most of the time I'm just watching her. I place my one arm behind my head and the other wrapping it around her bare torso and pulling her closer to me. I close my eyes and drift off into a sleep.
