Rosalie motions for me to follow her and we head to my office. She closes the door and braces herself. My heart starts to beat faster as I have a feeling of what she is about to say. Her eyes lock on mine and I see the pain radiate from her. I back away,

"No," I tell her.

"It's what's best for everyone," She states as she holds back her tears.

Silence fills the air around us and I have no words. The woman I love is breaking things off because of what happened. I move toward her,

"He's gone. He's been charged. He can't hurt you anymore." I try to reassure her.

She backs away and blinks away the tears that have formed in her eyes.

"You have no idea what he is capable of. He may be behind bars now, but once he gets out, he will come after me. I have to leave." She puts her head down, "I have to keep you all safe."

I pull her into my arms and hold her tightly. Tears threaten to escape and I feel my heart shatter into a million pieces. She grabs my hands.

"What about the boys?" I ask her.

"I'll stay until you find someone to take over."

"So then what do we do?" I ask her.

"You go back to your original plans. You move on with your life."

"I can't do that?" I start to cry. My emotions take over and I feel the air around me disappear.

"Those boys need to be safe. He will do anything he can to hurt me, that includes hurting them." She starts to tremble, "I can't let that happen."

I run my hands through my hair and wipe my tears. I can't believe what I'm feeling right now, it feels like my entire world has been turned upside down. Nothing makes sense, my mind is spinning with questions I cannot answer. It's hard to accept that the future I was so sure of, has been ripped away from me.

"No, I don't agree with this." I tell her.

"Jasper, you can't just stop your life to make sure I'm safe."

"Oh yes I can. I'm the boss, remember?" I pick up my phone and call June.

"Hey, as of today, please inform everyone that will be switching back to online and the office building is closed. Something has happened and right now I can't leave the house so we will all be working from home."

"You're the boss," June says, "I'll send out a mass email to everyone informing of the temporary change in work location."

"Thank you," I hang up and smile. "Done, now you're not going anywhere. You hear me?" I tell her.

I pull her into my chest, "I'll always love you, that means protecting you at all costs" I tell her as we pull apart.

I press my lips against hers, as I lean against my desk. She stands between my legs and wraps her arms around my neck. "I love you," I tell her.

"I love you, too." She gives me a coy smile. I gently run my fingers over her face and she winces in pain.

"Sorry," I say quietly. I hate seeing her like this. She looks so fragile, and I can't help but wonder if there is anything I can do to make her feel better. I take her hands in mine and look into her eyes. She looks up at me and her eyes seem to be filled with a mixture of sadness and gratitude.

She tries to smile through the pain she is in, "I'll go make some more coffee,"

I kiss her forehead and tell her I'll be out in a minute.

I take a seat at my desk and I call Toronto's Police Department. Hoping to speak to the Officer in charge of what has happened today.

"Just one moment, Mr. Wentworth," The constable who answered tells me.

"This is Detective Danforth, how can I help you Mr. Wentworth?"

As I sit there, I describe the situation and how terrified Rosie is. He gives me his word that Cole won't be going anywhere. Due to the high amount of the bail, he will have to remain in jail until the conclusion of his trial. I express my gratitude to him for the reassurance he has given me. I hang up and head out of the office and into the living room.

As the night goes on, Rosie and Natty begin the cleaning process as the sun begins to set. After getting their nails done, the girls decided to hang out in the gaming room.

As David and Natty leave for the guest house, I go around and lock all of the doors, and then I sit here in silence and watch as Rosie goes into her room. I hear her shower running and head to my room. I don't want to force anything on her so I give her the space she needs.

I head to my room and strip down to my boxers. I lay in bed and hope for the best. I hate myself for allowing her to go alone today. I should have joined her. I didn't want to be so controlling as she's been in that situation before and look what has happened. My mind wanders about the what if's of today. A knock at my door stops my thoughts and I get up to open it.

Rosie stands there in her robe, her dark brown hair wet from her shower but her eyes red from the tears she has cried.

"I need the pain to go away." Her lips press against mine and I close the door behind her. Immediately, I am transported away from my worries and troubles; the pain fades away as our lips lock in a perfect moment of bliss.

"Thank you," She says. I pull her into my arms and kiss her hair.

"I love you," I whisper in her ear.

She looks up at me as tears come down, she places her palm on my cheek and says, "I love you Jasper,"

Her saying my name after saying I love you makes my heart swell, it's like she finally realises that I'm not going anywhere.

"Come here baby," I bring her closer and her head lays on my chest. I turn on the TV and we watch Dark Matter on netflix before falling asleep. Her arms wrap tighter around me and I wake to see her panicking in her sleep.

"Babe, babe, wake up." Her eyes flutter open and she gasps for air as she holds her neck.

"Hey, look at me," I grab her chin and have her face me, "You're safe. I'm right here." Reassuring her that everything would be alright, I hold her tight and wipe away the tears from her eyes. I let her bury her head into my chest, feeling the warmth radiating off of me.

She inhales slowly, finally steading her breathing. As we lay there, this time my body presses against hers and I wrap my arm tight around her torso and stay like that for the rest of the night.
