My body hurts as I awaken. When I finally manage to open my eyes, I notice that the room is quite dark. When I turn my attention to the windows, I see that Jasper has drawn the blackout curtains across them. I can see the sun making a valiant effort to break through the fabric. I groan and make an effort to get up, but it is to no avail; my body aches with every move I make. I attempt to push myself out of bed but the pain is overwhelming.

"Hey," Jasper says, "Take it easy." He gets up slowly and puts on his boxers and kisses my head before heading to the kitchen. I try to look at the time and it's eleven in the morning. Jasper finally makes his way back and starts to laugh.

"What?" I ask as he hands me Tylenol and some water.

"I walked out there like this and David and Natasha were in the living room." He laughs even harder.

"Oh, God." I state as I lay my head back. Pain jolts through my body and gasp for air. Jasper sits down next to me and holds my hand.

"I'll run you a hot bath. That should help ease some of the pain." He walks into the bathroom and starts running the water. He emerges from the bathroom and helps me up as we walk together into the bathroom. Sleeping naked the night before has its advantage as I step into the warm water and lay back into the tub.

I close my eyes and feel the tension in my body slowly melt away as the hot water envelops me in its soothing embrace. I let my mind wander and drift, taking me away from the stress and worry. Time seems to stand still as I take a few moments to just relax and simply be. My breathing slows, and the weight of the world slowly lifts away as I relax into a meditative state.

I feel myself slowly go deeper and deeper into the tub. I submerge my head under the water and listen to my own heartbeat as the water washes over me. The sensation is both calming and peaceful, allowing me to gain a sense of clarity that I don't often experience. I lift my head above the water and lean back against the tub once more.

Jasper walks in and places pajama pants, panties and a t-shirt on the counter. He places a towel next to me and tells me to call for him when I'm done and he will help me out.

"Don't go, please," I say quietly, his eyes showing love as he takes a seat next to the tube. He takes the cloth and gently rubs it on my shoulders.

"The water is really warm," He starts to laugh.

"It feels good. Thank you." I tell him, he moves closer and his lips brush with mine and he passionately kisses me and I forget about the world of pain I'm in.

I finally tell him I'd like to get out and he grabs the towel, takes my hand and helps me out of the tub as he wraps the towel around me. His gentle touch soothes my sorrow as he walks me to the room. I sit on the edge of the bed and slowly dry myself off and get dressed.

"I grabbed you a sports bra instead so you could be more comfortable," He tells me as he hands me my clothes.

"Thank you," I smile.

I finally get dressed and make my way to the living room where David and Natty are. I look around and ask who wants to eat, they all look at me like I've grown an extra head.

"You're joking right?" Natasha exclaims.

"You just took a beating and you're up to cooking?" David questions me.

Jasper's hands carefully caress my arms, "You need to relax," He tells me, agreeing with the others.

I shake him off, "I'm not broken, so stop treating me like I am." I walk away and head to the kitchen, each step consists of pain searing through my whole body. I take deep breaths and push through the pain. I put the coffee maker on, making sure to be as gentle with my body as possible. The ache in my bruised body reminds me that I'm still here, and I take solace in the fact that I am strong enough to keep going.
