Chapter 21: Save them! (Part 1)

Savit’s POV:

It was the early hours of the morning, maybe 6 am. I had lost exact track of time, as I eagerly waited for a call from the kidnappers. And what I did not understand was why were they taking so long to call and ask for ransom. Did they have an ulterior motive? Meanwhile, I decided to inform Vit about all this and ask him to take care of the office because obviously, I was not going back until I got my baby sister back in my arms.

10 am…

Dark circles under my eyes, hair disheveled I impatiently waited for the ransom call from the kidnappers but instead, I got a call from Jay. Now, why was he calling me? Anyways, I answered the call.

“Hello, Jay.”

“Hey Savit, when does your Tai usually come to the office?”

“9:30. Why?”

“Well, it seems that he is not here yet. And before you tell me that he may be running late, let me tell you he was not even home when I went there to check up on him.”

“Did you try calling him?”

“I did but no use, it says ‘switched off’.”

“Urgh… what does he want me to do now? I already have to find my sister and now him.”

“Your sister?”

“Yes. She was kidnapped yesterday and we are still waiting for any clues from the kidnappers.”

“Wait. Why did you not tell me this sooner?”

“Because I was busy and did not have the time to.” I rolled my eyes.

“Savit, it’s just a hunch but do you think that Tai is missing because even he was kidnapped with Arisa?”

“What? Why do you think so?”

“Well, you hired me to keep an eye on Tai because of Arisa, didn’t you? And now that Arisa is kidnapped, it’s a high possibility that even Tai was kidnapped because they both are close to you.”

This made the wheels in my head start running. Yes, that might be quite a possibility. For the past month, many people might have seen how Arisa is very close to Tai and they knew that I trusted Tai with Arisa then which means that I trust Tai and he is an important person to me. But the question was who did it? Is it him again? No. No that can’t be happening. He was in jail, right? And it’s been five years since that day, then why would he come back now? Why again? I had to find out as soon as possible who it is. Who is behind all this? I have to save Arisa and Tai at all costs if he is really kidnapped with her. But for that, I needed to start somewhere and for now, I did not have any clue other than the driver. I checked Tai’s phone’s last location but that was also last seen active near the office yesterday night. However, I wonder what Tai’s family must be thinking about all this. Did they notice his disappearance yet?

Five years ago…

Savit was nineteen years old and was a second-year university student studying business administration. An introvert by nature, he did not have many friends, just two very close friends Jay and Claire. The three of them were friends since high school and were known as the ‘three musketeers’ in the university. Even though coming from different social backgrounds, these three were always found spending time and doing everything together. But like they always say, ‘a girl and a boy can’t be best friends,’ it kind of turned out to be true here. Claire ended up having feelings for Savit, I mean who wouldn’t? He was rich, handsome, and intelligent; every girl’s dream guy.
Gathering up all her courage, Claire also confessed it to Savit, but he turned her down, saying, ‘He did not have any kind of romantic feelings towards her, instead just considered her as his best friend and he would appreciate it if Claire would do the same.’ Heartbroken Claire ended up suppressing her feelings for Savit and tried her best to act normal and not let any awkwardness come in between them because she adored their friendship more than anything.

But there was someone, who did not like it at all. He was jealous of what Savit had. He hated the fact that Savit had everything and he didn’t, and that is why he decided to ruin his life. And he was successful in doing so when he kidnapped Claire and killed her out of her rage for Savit. He made Savit lose his best friend and made him scared to let anyone close to his heart again.

Tai’s POV:

I did not what time it was, but was sure it has already been more than eight hours since we were kidnapped. By now, I already knew that there was a high possibility of Mr. Savit knew that Arisa was kidnapped because of the injured driver, which meant that even I will be rescued and will not die here alone in the hands of these kidnappers. But we still do not how long before we would be rescued and till then we had to be aware and try our best to find an escape route. Arisa was now sleeping out of tiredness and hunger. I was also not in very good shape. I was hungry and still in pain which made it very difficult for me to stay awake. Though, I tried my best because I needed to find someone to ask and figure out the reason for our kidnapping.

And before I would burst out because of my curiosity, I was graced with a presence whose aura screamed dominance. He wore an all-black outfit that consisted of khaki pants, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket. He came in and sat on the chair that was brought in by one of his minions.
“Why does Savit end up with such beauties? That is not fair,” said the man.

“What do you mean to end up with beauties?"
"I think you getting everything wrong here. I am just a normal employee working in his office.” I clarified

“A normal employee who is very close to his little sister. I see.”

“Why did you kidnap me and Arisa? Kidnapping me would not get you any ransom, let me tell you.”

“Who wants money? I have bigger motives and you shall be one of the spectators when it unfolds, until then enjoy your time here with your cute sister-in-law.”

With that being said, the man went away. I tried asking him more questions and shouting asking us to let go but what I got in return were a punch on my face by one of his minions and a lower lip cut. This made me hiss in pain and pray for Mr. Savit to find us as soon as possible.
