Savit’s POV:If I would have been a dragon then may you all could have seen the fire coming out of my ears and nose, because I was angry. Aran’s simple ‘Long time no see, my friend’ put me on fire and now I wanted nothing but to just kill him. This time I can’t afford another death and there will be no death other than that of Aran’s and I’ll make sure of it.
“Where are you lost, my dear friend?” asked Aran seeing me not answering him.
My dad nudged my shoulder, gesturing for me to speak and asking why he called.
“Nowhere. It’s you who kidnapped Arisa, right?”
“Waoo, smart man. Absolutely and it is not just Arisa but also your lover Tai, who are under my captivation.”
“What do you want? Why are you doing all this?” I asked.
I did not feel the need to clarify to him that Tai was not my lover but my employee and my sister’s best friend (according to her), because he did not deserve to know what our relationship dynamics were. Listening to my questions, he started like a maniac.
“What I want, you ask. Don’t you already know it? I want you to be sad just like me, I want you to feel the pain of losing your loved ones, just like I did when I lost Claire because of you.”
“You are sick and need treatment. Do you even listen to yourself? And you did not lose Claire because of me but because of your own stupid jealousy. Only if you would have given some time to Claire to forget me and be by her side showing how you loved and cared for her, she might have given you a chance. But no, you decided to choose violence and that’s not my fault.”
I had tormented myself enough over the past years thinking and blaming myself for Claire’s death only to come to the conclusion that it was never my fault but Aran’s. And the only mistake that I did was not take enough effort to talk to Aran after he decided to abandon our long friendship.
“Enough. I have not called you to listen to your lectures but to tell you that if you wish to see your lover boy and baby sister for one last time before I send them on their journey toward heaven then meet at the address that I’ll send you soon.”
And he cut the call. He did not wait for me to respond back but just hung up. While I clutched my phone tight in my hands, my parents came toward me, asking me to calm down and think of a way to get both Arisa and Tai back. I looked at them and just nodded, they just managed to give me a weak smile, however, I could see many questions swirling around in their eyes regarding Tai. They wanted to ask me but couldn’t, thinking I’m not yet ready to answer them. And it was true, I wasn’t ready because I myself did not know what relationship I shared with Tai other than the boss-employee and his little best friend’s big brother relationship. But whatever, it was I just knew that he was important for Arisa, for the company, and maybe….also for me, and I will do everything to save him and my baby.
While I was lost in my thoughts of what relationship I had with Tai, my phone rang again. It was an unknown number. I hesitantly picked up the call, not knowing what I would hear again, but to my little comfort, it was Tai’s brother.
“Hello, am I speaking to Mr. Savit?”
“Hello, yes you are.”
“May I know where my brother is? Why am I unable to contact him since yesterday night?”
“Ah… I am sorry sir, but your brother has been kidnapped with my little sister.” I had to tell him the truth, he was Tai’s family, and he deserved to know it.
“Kidnapped? With your little sister? Why? Does this have something to do with your business rivalries and all?” he asked.
“I am afraid, that’s not the exact case. But yes it is a personal matter because of which all of this is happening.”
“Personal matter? If it is your personal matter, then why is my brother involved in all this? Why is he suffering?”
I had no other option but to listen to him quietly because whatever he said was true. Tai did end up in all this mess even when it was not his fault or he is not a part of it.
“I am sorry sir, but I promise you to bring him back safely as soon as possible. I have contacted the police, and the kidnapper has already contacted me regarding his demands, so do not worry. I shall get him back to you safely before the sun rose tomorrow. You have my word for it.”
“You better keep your word Mr. Savit because if anything happens to my brother, then you shall see hell.” And he cut the call after this.
By now I had received the message from Aran, where he had mentioned the address where he had kept Tai and Arisa captivated and the time when I should arrive there.
Night – 10 pm.
I had reached the place where Tai and Arisa were kept. It was an abandoned sugar factory on the outskirts of the city, a two-hour drive from my place. After parking my car a bit far away from the factory, I went inside. After I got the address and time for the meeting, I informed the police about the same but, I asked them not to get into the building with me, instead be here outside and if I needed their help, I shall notify them by sending an SOS through my phone. I couldn’t afford any more mishaps this time, hence I had to be extremely careful of what and how I did it.
I entered the building quietly, tiptoeing from one pillar to another so that I do not alert him of my presence, yet. I first wanted to find the room where Tai and Arisa were kept so that I could plan my next move accordingly. Checking all the rooms on the ground floor, now I moved to the first floor. On the first floor, there were two only two rooms, one was the storage room and the other was labelled as the equipment room. Thinking that they may be kept in the storage room, I tiptoed toward the room and slowly opened the door, only to hear…
