He couldn't stop the anger the flared inside him as he saw you two laughing, sharing a milkshake. That bastard had his arm around your shoulders, his smile growing as his crimson eyes were on you and only you. It wasn't right. Your laughter could barely be heard through the diner over the loud music playing but he could hear it and it shattered his heart as he walked over to your table, hands in his jacket pockets and heterochromatic eyes glaring at the blonde glued to your side.
"Y/N, time to go home." His tone was stern, his pointed glare indicating he would fight if needed. Bakugo pulled his arm away from you, a challenging look in his eyes and you could tell they would fight if you didn't go. You got up and took Shoto's newly offered hand but you winced at his iron grip, cold as ice as sharp nails made imprints in your wrist and the two of you walked away. You didn't know what to think, Shoto was being unusually harsh and you were worried you had done something wrong but you couldn't really think of anything that was even remotely worthy of this harsh treatment.
"Shoto?" You ask, your voice a little higher in pitch due to the fact that ice was slowly accumulating on your wrist. "What's wrong?"
He hated it.
He hated that voice. He hated the way you trembled slightly in his grip. He hated the look in your eyes when he looked at you. You were scared, and even worse, you were scared of him. He stopped walking as the two of you neared your house, his grip loosened and he melted the ice off of you. "Why were you with him?" His voice was softer now, a pleading in his eyes as he searched your face desperately. What for you didn't know.
"With...Katsuki?" You asked, confused still. His nod made you realize what must have been the problem and you brightened once more, your laugh ringing in his ears like wind chimes on a breezy day. "Shoto- oh my goodness no no it wasn't anything like that! You see we had made plans to hang out last week but he had to cancel them because of work so he was just making it up to me, that diner had came out with a new spicy ramen and he thought it'd be a good treat. Oh boy you really had me worried there!" You let out a sigh of relief, smiling cheerfully up at your boyfriend. "It wasn't like a date or anything honest."
He wanted to believe your warm smile and words, so he did. He believed you every. single. time. He was blinded by you, hypnotized in a way he never could be with anyone else. You wouldn't lie to him after all, you were each other's partners, there for the other no matter what right?
He laid in bed one night, looking up at the ceiling as he couldn't sleep and your warmth wasn't beside him. Another late night probably, your agency had been doing that a lot more frequently lately not that he was complaining. That was a sign they were acknowledging your strength and skill, he couldn't be prouder of you actually. He just couldn't help but miss the way you cuddle into his side, how perfectly your body matched the curve of his, how your sweet smile reassured him everything was going to be okay. He glanced at his alarm clock, the time being near three in the morning and sighed as he got out of bed. He couldn't sleep without you so he'd do the next best thing and get something to eat.
He smiled at the pictures hung up in the hall after he fixed a simple sandwich. Him with his sister and brothers and his mother, you with your family, that picture you both took together during the summer camp in your first year at U.A.. There was a picture of your class at the hero gala event, you were squished between Deku and him while Kirishima, Bakugo and Ashido stood behind, giving the three of you bunny ears. He chuckled as he remembered that night, the night you confessed to him and the two of you danced so much you had both gotten dizzy. His chest felt warm with pride as he saw the picture you both had taken when you saw you were both in the top 5 of the hero chart, and the picture of you on his shoulders outside of your house when you both bought it. He had such a great life with you.
He headed back to bed after getting a glass of water, the drowsiness consuming him instantly. When he awoke, his right side was warm, your arm and legs haphazardly thrown over him as you slept. He looked down at you in awe, the smile wide on his face as he moved just enough so that he could kiss the top of your head. You were his entire world, and he'd hold onto for as long as possible.
