(I'm not sure if this was going to be a ship story but here it is ? Reader and Midoriya)
"The team hasn't sent in a report in the last hour."
Panic.
"It's been two weeks now and still no sign of the number one hero Deku. Reports say he was supposedly part of a secret mission with other big name pros like Dynamite who have been retrieved from looks like another one of the League's bases...."
Miles away, deep in the snow, lay the fallen hero. His breath barely coming as his lungs froze, a thick slush already killing him slowly. He needed to move but he had lost feeling in all limbs hours ago, or was it days? How long has it been since the team had been ambushed? Did the others make it out safely? Why wasn't he doing something to help?
The snow piled and started to bury him in his icy grave. His mind replaying the shouts of his team as the villains attacked them, he would have been crying if he had any liquid to cry. This was how he gonna leave the world, some great hero he was. He closed his eyes and slipped into the depths of the cold.
"You're not dying yet."
When he woke up, he was tucked warm and cozy into a bed he didn't remember getting into. The thick quilts made it hard to breathe as his lungs now had to work faster to compensate for his body waking up. The howling of wind outside alerted all over his senses as a flash of lightning illuminated the dark sky, showing that it was snowing. The sky roared with thunder only seconds later and he was forced still by it's loudness, head ducking quickly under the covers. Where was he? More importantly...
Who was he?
The sound of a door opening made him peek out from underneath the blankets and he saw you. You were dressed in heavy coats, a thick coon skin hat rested on your head. You had a good foot worth of snow clinging to you but what caught his attention immediately was the steaming cup in your hands and your smile. That smile melted away his anxiety, it made him feel safe. You sat the cup on the table beside the bed and gently helped him sit up. Your lips moved but the sound wasn't one he understood.
His furrowed brows and clearly confused expression made you stop, seems this stranger didn't talk your language, so he wasn't from around here for sure. You smiled again to show him you meant no harm before offering the drink you had prepared, putting it carefully into his hands before making a drinking motion with your hand, hoping he could at least understand that. He seemed to contemplate it but ultimately drank it. A soft hum left him as he continued drinking the hot chocolate but he looked puzzled, brows once again gathering as he stared into his now empty cup. You tilted your head, not sure how to ask him what was wrong. This was going to be interesting for sure.
The green haired stranger seemed to have enough sense to stay in bed while he was sick, but once you made the ok sign after taking his temperature, he was overtly insistent to help you with anything he could understand. This was mostly house chores like sweeping, making beds, feeding your wolf Rex and occasionally he cooked. By the time came around for you go to back into the village, he bundled up to join you, bringing a basket just like he had watched you do, his gentle smile conveying all you needed to know. The snow was still thick despite it being late January, you occasionally looked back behind you to make sure he was still there, amused as he stepped in your footprints. You couldn't wait to show the village your new friend.
