(unfinished, I only ever wrote the TodoDeku part I think)
It was spring time, the first day of the cherry blossom week long festivals and pro hero's were needed to watch over the festivities. But all Izuku could think of while walking around were red spider lillies. An odd thought given the flowers weren't even his favorite, but all morning they were on his mind, facts about how to grow them and the best season for them played in his mind in a voice that wasn't his. Was this a memory? Had someone he known ingrained this flower into his mind? 'Red spider lilies, a flower for final goodbyes...' His mind slowly worked through the significance of this flower and he was distracted all morning because of it, his record book for writing down incident reports turning into pages on the flower.
'Lycoris radiata, the red spider lily.'
Admittedly he was trying to focus on the voice in his mind, it was soft and smooth. Masculine, but not too deep. If he focused hard enough he could almost catch the whiff of a spicy caramel smell. Maybe a colonge? This only confused him more, who was this person? They seemed so familiar yet so foreign.
Izuku, distracted by his mind and oblivious to the world, had been standing in the same sport for an hour and was yelled at by Iida who worked at the same agency as him. That wasn't good, how could he have spaced out so badly? He finally looked around, growing very much aware of the 19 other sets of eyes focused on him. That wasn't good at all- In an attempt to diffuse the situation, he asked to be dismissed and claimed he wasn't feeling good. He was allowed to leave and he headed away for a walk.
His walk was probably more odd than the thoughts of the flower were. He walked through the park, his eyes only focused on one tree out of the hundreds there. It wasn't a very majestic tree either, easily the scrawniest there. The bark was much lighter in color, a birch in a sea of tall oaks, willows and sakura trees. The internal dialogue in his mind changed. A much younger voice, sweet and brave, spoke with facts on birch trees. 'A symbol of rebirth, new beginnings and growth.'
This tree captivated him, a faint noise of children giggling played along with a scene of the place in his mind.
*It was a warm and sunny spring day, the flowers just starting to bloom and the animals just starting to wake from their winter sleep. I had begged mom to take me to the park before I had to go school that day. "Okay Izuku, just wear a jacket okay? It may be sunny but it's still a little chilly." I had to get her help with my All Might jacket but once it was on I was ready and happily walked to the park with her.*
*There weren't many kids at the park, which was great because I could play on the equipment and not have to worry about the older kids with their quirks pushing me off. Mom sat on a bench to watch me and smiled at me before another kid around my age appeared, his hair was like a porcupine, and his eyes were red like apples, but what caught my attention the most was the All Might jacket he wore, it was exactly like mine.*
Who was this? Where they the same person as the voice before? Was he going crazy? No.. He was just having some sort of memory issue clearly. He walked off, hoping to clear his head from this mess but only found himself drawn into a cafe. The smell of fresh coffee and whimsical music playing overhead brightened his spirits. When he was asked for his order, his eyes had barely glanced at the menu before his mouth moved, "A caramel macchiato with extra whip cream please." Where did that come from?
Izuku had always been a more French vanilla cappuccino with cream kind of guy. But just like the rest of his bizarre morning, there was a comforting voice in his mind. Only this time there wasn't any explaining, just soft laughs and conversations he could only half make out through the growing fog in his mind. He took his coffee and sat at a booth by the window, red spider lilies grew in the planter outside the window and danced in the spring breeze. That couldn't have been a coincidence- could it? He shook his head and enjoyed his drink, for something he never recalled drinking before the taste was oddly familiar, as if he had just had the same thing that morning. Weird.
